Babel Deli's vegetarian meze plate is holy. I am obsessed and have consumed it way too much lately. Anyways, in my last post I said I wasn't much for faux fur.. And today I wore a faux fur vest haha. Guess I changed my mind afterall? I styled my faux fur vest with a grey top from Brandy Melville, black flares from Gina Tricot, ZARA coat along with Adidas ZX 700 sneakers and a Guess bag.
So the fashion trends for this spring has already been popping up in the streets of Stockholm.
Of course, fashion trends varies from country to country and from city to city. Every area has it's own unique way of interpret a fashion trend. Whats hot in Stockholm, might not be as hot in Tokyo. Most important, there are tons of different styles in one area because every human is unique and applies fashion in a peculiar, subjective way. Anyways, there are always worldwide fashion
trends and Stockholm has not been unaffected. This are some of the trends I have noticed
among stockholmers and in the shops for the past month;
Faux fur has been everywhere during January and February. Not a too distinctive fur is popular tho, either white or black and preferably more cropped than oversized. Myself I don't own one yet. It's really not my type of thing, I think I would drown in it and just look like a lost sheep. Though it can be really bomb if you style it the right way. Who knows what happens in the future..
The laced up shirt, in Sweden aka "the Gina Tricot shirt", is a worldwide trend and has been around for a while. In Stockholm it's still quite popular, everyone basically has one in their closet, except me haha. I would really like to have one tho.
Fyi, I almost bought one the other day when I visited Zara.
Cut flared denims might not be as popular here in Stockholm as the faux fur or the laced up shirt is, but the worldwide trend has definitely been picked up by a great amount of swedes and Swedish stores as well. The trend has grown on me too, so much that I actually went and bought a pair from Weekday last week. Still, I am doubting it a bit yet the trend is stucked in my mind. Ahh fashion dilemma. I know - if you doubt an item you shouldn't keep it, but in this case it's different. Maybe this is just a classic love-hate thing?
Anyways I will keep them for now and keep on doubting..
And for shoes, over the knee boots is the thing in Stockholm. There is nothing more to say really about this trend then that every fricking gurl here owns a pair. I love heels, but over the knees has not captured my heart yet. When the weather gets warmer, we will see tho. I have some really nice summer outfits paired with the boots in my head. Imagine like a boho floral dress with those black over the knees and a big fedora plus ray bans. Coachella I'm here!
Another popular shoe here in Stockholm , is the Adidas sneakers, either superstars (the black striped on white) or stan smith (white with the green detail). This is a unisex trend, both popular among girls and boys. The sneaker trend that influenced Stockholm long time ago, is still going around but now in terms of le babes, a pair of originals. Nike has been substituted.. haha. No, but for reals, it's really popular here together with other monochromic shoes from nike, new balance etc.
So for the last trend, I have chosen to write about a Stockholm stable, the plain long scarf. The scarf in my eyes should be called the "aka Acne lookalike scarf". In every store, to mention a few like Gina Tricot, Bik Bok, Monki this Acne Studios influenced scarf is popping up in different colors. The swedes, as the monochromic people as we are, like to wear it in either black, grey or beige. I have seen some in maroon as well. I love it, love the fact that other stores than Acne Studios offer this scarf so everyone can afford this great trend.
Myself, I still prefer Acnes version of it tho.
Currently having the biggest foodcoma. Spent all afternoon celebrating dads birthday with the whole family. Since none of us decided to dress up, I went for something casual and cosy. I'm wearing my new babies, Adidas superstars with a comfy turtleneck from Acne Studios and skinny denims from Cubus (+DIY). I gave up on the denims tho, real italian food is no joke. Now it's time for cake.. oh mamma mia
Firenze day 3 (November throwback)
Let me go back.
Wearing my trusty trousers from Weekday, white turtleneck and sunglasses from Monki.
My runners are from Puma and when it got windy, my kaki trenchcoat from Bershka was quite handy.
