This week will be the final week with the introduction class. And today was probably the most unnecessary class I have ever had. Who thought I would say that when I pay way too much money for these classes. My people from SU will know when i describe the class as one of Ulf Färjares informationsökningslektioner. Honestly, the teacher started the class by saying "don't cite wikipedia in your memos". I was like thank god you told me this. Ive been citing wikipedia throughout law school for five years.

However, I must admit that it was nice to get a refresher about the US legal research databases. I used them during my exchange semester but not recently. I guess it can't be much different from the Swedish ones, just way way way more information due to their weird legal system. Im saying weird, even though their common law system really intrigues me, because the weirdness of it is interesting.

One thing I've been focusing too much energy on is why the classrooms at UCLA is FREEZING AF. Jesus, its like 100 degrees outside, and then you go inside - and it's like being home in Sweden in the middle of January. I did not sign up for this.

Tomorrow is the last day of my intro class. Today Im more than willing to do something fun. Its Monday so why not start of the week with some drinks. Preferably at home, lets not forget that Im on a CSN-budget.

My first weekend has gone by. I had school both Saturday and Sunday. UCLA was like "we no care. You come here to study, well study then". So basically thats all I did this weekend. I cant even think of something fun to write about. i bought books... and now I can't eat for the rest of this month.. Joke aside. Books are hella expensive. I rented some thought, from amazon. Gotta love amazon.

We went out Sunday afternoon. Sunday is usually funday in LA. Cant complain, Sundays here are so much more fun than Sundays any other where. We went to the Bungalow in Santa Monica. I love the Bungalow. I used to hangout there a lot because of this hot guy. He doesn't work there anymore so I will have to find some other reason for showing up there way too many times.

First week of school is over. It was - well school. I like the fact that you always challenge your mind in school. I like that about education. But right now, the thing thats challenging my mind the most is to settle down and find some kind of routine here. Im just walking around lost somewhere in LA. I guess the feeling of lost will pass.

Started this day with class at 9 am. The same as the days before. Class went well. I did good on my case brief exercise. After school I got a ride home from my new friend. He's so fun! And I'm so glad he lives close to me!

Today we had like a hangout at Santa Monica beach. There were a lot of people and it was nice hanging out with people outside of the classroom. We just sat there and talked. After the beach, a couple of us decided to go to Cabo for some drinks. These margaritas will be my death but also #goals to drink them ALL before leaving my dream city.

Margaritas
- coconut
- mango
- melon
More to come. Stay tuned.

I'm really looking forward to this year. It's going to be everything I want and more.

On to day 2.

So I got a ride to school this morning by one of my classmates. From my apartment to UCLA it's 30 min with car. However, with the bus, which will be my primary form of transportation, it will take around 1 h 20 min to UCLA. The good thing is though that the bus goes straight from my apartment to law school.

Enough about transportation.

I did something in class today - I asked a questions about discovery in civil litigation. While asking my questions (which I planned 100% in my head, every word I was about to speak up) I hear myself doing this weird indian accent. I ended up sounding like Apu in the Simpson and now I'm pretty sure my classmates thinks Im lying about my Swedish background... A better day in class.

After school, I finally got myself my third(!!!) american number. And my first (!!!) american bank account. I am now a 424-girl, living in LA, withdrawing money from my Bank of America account.

This my school.

My first day of law school was in late August 2010 at Stockholm University. When I graduated five years after that I thought to myself "finally done with law school". Oh how wrong I was. Today was my second first day of law school - however this time at UCLA School of Law.

I had a classic first day. I was a little bit stressed due to the fact that I was running five minutes late (which didn't matter at all when I finally arrived). I got there and there was a lot of people. I didn't know anybody. I got my orientation package and just stood there, watching people. Y'all know how awkward it can be right, not knowing anybody and still acting cool, looking at your phone, hoping someone will text you. So that was the first 10 min of law school for me. After that I started talking to some of the other students and they all seem like nice people.

I also had my first class today, introduction class with professor Scallen. Never seen a professor so engaged in her students.

The campus is so beautiful. I was walking around campus, sweating like a mf because I was stupid enough to wear jeans in 30 degrees (the butt sweat was real), and feeling so lucky that I got accepted to UCLA School of Law. How crazy is that?!

Anyway - that concluded my second first day of law school. And now I have homeworks do to - ya life is great.
