Today is finally the day. I'm waiting for the plane to lift from Arlanda. This will be my first trip alone to another continent. I'm holding my passport hard in my hand. Hopefully i have packed everything. I''m gonna visit Cape town, there I have payed for a house in 1 week. For a long time I've planned a trip to a country far away from sweden. It hasn't been easy to decide which one that i wants to go to. But after a couple of weeks on internet and some books in the library. I made my choice. South africa is the country that I will visit. I think that this country will include adventure and new memories. Hope that I will be able to make a safari. I found the hotel I look for, it's so beautiful. Not to expensive but high class. The name of the hotel is Ambassador.

Now I'm gonna run to the airplane so I tell you more later, bye!

Here you have a some facts about South Africa.

After spending a couple of days at the hotel and in the city of Cape Town It's now finally time for safari. We took a bus to a park a couple of hours outside the city. We visited Inverdoon safari. It was like a big park with fences but the animals were almost free. We saw cheetah, buffalos and some other animals. We used a jeep to travel in the park. Very sunny day and wild animals. It was wonderful!

An other trip I have been on is Robben Island. Ferry from Cape town. An Island 7 km from land. I spent a whole day there. So much to see and photograph. The Island has been used since 1500. Mutch history in a small place. I have memories for life after this trips.

The reason for why I want to visit that Island was because i saw a program on Tv a couple of weeks ago that showed places around the world, wich today was popular sightseeing places. Every place had a dark history. In this case the island was used as a prison island.

I can't believe it. One week is over and it's time to leave this wonderful country. Everyday I've found new things that make me love South Africa more and more.

Mostly of the people are so kind. The food has been fantastic. The nature and sorroundning as well. Anyway I will try to make a short summary of my visit. I start with the weather, it's espacilly sunshine. It shines all year. If you want to have rain also you can visit the western parts of the land. Right now it rains there because it's winter. Rest of the land can have small rain in summer. The temperature is nice, but not so high as in Australia. In the central parts you can find lowe temperatures. That's because it's a bit higher from the sea. Summer is from mid october to february and winter from may to july. Oppisite from Sweden.

If I compare Sweden and South Africa geography, same things are the same. Long coustline. But South Africa is sorrouned by two big oceans. Atlantic ocean and Indian ocean. South Africa is a medium sized country. Sweden is a quite small county. South Africa is twice the size of France and over three bigger than Germany. The largest city is Johannesburg. The economic heart of the county. Other important centras are for example Durban.

In the politics they have a democratic president. Almost like prime minister.

My greatest memory of this vaccation must be my vistit to the family and eaven my new friends. Very similar to us in Sweden but also many new impressions. For example the new food and it's have been intrested to take able the daily life.

Woups. Time to leave to the airport. Thank you South Africa, hope we meet again.

Dear Linda

I hope all is well with you. I have a good time here! That you also can see in my blog. I send you a greeting from this lovely country South Africa.

I saw on the TV that you have rainy and windy in Sweden, Don´t think that will happend down here. Hope that everything went fine anyway, and that everything went well in tha classroom. Yesterday I had the oppurtunity to visit a scool. Most of the things in school was different from our school. The classrooms was smaller and also classes. Only 10 pupils in every class. In one way that was quite different. But on the other hand this was a private school. So It may differ from ordinary school. Every pupil travels to school by bike or take a walk. No cars are allowed in the neighbour area. Pupils brings own food to school. In that case i prefer the school at home. Days passes by very quickly I'm a bit sad about that I will soon travel home again. But many new memories and friends for life, made the journey worth every dollar. I´ts quite strange that not so many swedes travels to this country. But my blog might change that. Who knows? I can find everything. And the nature, wow. But the best of all I have learned more english, I have talked english everyday. In two days i'm going home.

Best Regards // Izabelle

This is one of South Africas expensive school. I visit this and it was beautiful and nice people there.

This is an other classroom in South Africa. I didn't visit this but it it would have been intresting.

Hi! When I was on the Safari, I meet some friends. We had really fun together so they invinted me to there home and eat dinner tonight. They offered me a popular south Africa national dish. They called it "grilled game".

We spent the whole evening in their house. They lived in a big house just outside the town. I was impressed over their kindness.

They showed me around in the house and in the garden. The garden looked like a park. They had alot of fruit trees and we used the fruit fo a lovely sallad. The mother's name was Janet. She was 36 years old. She was born i Germany but moved to South Africa, It was her job that needed her help. She works for a company named Siemens, That was interesting because my uncle also work in that company. That was why we started to talk at the safari. The father's name is Mike. He works in a goldmine. Not as a gold digger but in the office. I think that he earns a lot of money. They have two children. Janina wich is 18 years old. We have the same intrests. But one thing made me really exciting. She works in a club on the weekends. It's one of the most popular club in the countries. And tonight she will take me there. She studies music and art. The son is named Michel. He is only eight years old. His biggest hobby is cars. I can see why. His father has really beautiful cars in the garage. Hope he can take us for a ride.
