Yesterday we took the metro to Aranjuéz so we could tour the royal palace and the gardens. El jardín was so beautiful, just being there feeling the warm sun kiss my cheeks, having a nice breeze and a little bit of water spraying from the fountain made me feel so at peace, it almost hit me on a spiritual level to be completely honest. Once it was time for our reservation we were able to have a guided tour throughout the spring palace. I loved it but unfortunately we weren't permitted to take any pictures. Every single room was so luxurious and extravagant, it's hard to imagine that there were kings and queens as young as 16 living so posh and having such incredible things. My favorite room was probably the smoking room. It took two years to finish this room, every detail was hand crafted and it had such a cool lux vibe I couldn't help but feel like my body should be covered in henna, and lounging in a djellaba while smoking huca. I know that doesn't seem like anything you could see in Spain but I found it so interesting how the king had an artist replicate this room for him. The king also had an amazing dressing room with mirrors surrounding the room, velvet curtains and carved and gold plated detailing. After the palace it was time for lunch and then we had to hop back on the metro to get back to madrid. Just before dinner we took a stroll in the park so we could watch to sunset. This is something that a lot of locals do, it's a common hour for walking around. It was really interesting be able to see how a lot of the locals spend their free time in such a beautiful park. I can't believe how much fun we've been having, and this is still the beginning of the trip!
