Today I am going to discuss with you what I mostly like to eat in a day when living a realistically healthy lifestyle. I am only human and have my days where I pig out on food that is not good for you and I understand it may be hard to change an eating habit especially if you do not know where to begin and if you do not have the sources, in this post I am going to make it as realistic as possible for everyone out there and keep it easy and inexpensive.  Something everyone needs to remember is that food is VITAL for a healthy body, mind and lifestyle and that there are so many tasty things you can make that are wholesome and good for you.

Breakfast

I am someone who needs to change my habit for not eating some mornings because the saying " food is the most important meal of the day " is TRUE! Skipping breakfast can be dangerous and can determine how you proceed throughout the day which is so true! I know that when I do not eat breakfast I can find myself exhausted by midday and I quite often feel nauseous.

The thing is.... your body is practically starving itself during the night whilst you are sleeping and if you wait till 'morning tea' or 'lunch' to eat your first meals of the day, thats up to 15hrs of not giving your body the fuel it needs therefore it surely can't function at its highest potential and your metabolism won't be working as effectively. So if you are someone who mostly skips breakfast ( somewhat guilty ) I challenge you and myself to tackle this habit and try starting to eat something for breakfast, even if it is little. If you are always in a rush take something on the road with you like a banana or a protein bar, or to drink a smoothie or a juice.

I have either the following

-Rolled oats with organic maple syrup

-A bowl of scrambled eggs ( 1 egg and 2 egg whites with a dash of milk, salt and pepper and lite cheese)

-Avocado, tomato and bacon on toast with mushrooms

-Various smoothies- banana, frozen berries, tsp coconut oil, protein powder, rolled oats, greens powder, ice, greek yoghurt, almond or soy milk.

-Banana Pancakes

Morning Snack

Considering I am still at school I will normally have my next meal/snack at recess which is 10:15am. I will normally take to school up to two of the following below.

-Plain rice crackers

-A serve of fruit ( pear, apple, container of berries) whatever I have at home

-Vegetable chips

-Raw slices

Lunch

My lunches on weekdays and weekends are generally the same kind of meal, only difference is my meals on weekends are prepared. What I like to do is buy a massive pack of plastic chinese containers and on a Sunday afternoon cook up my meals for school.

-Grilled chicken with avocado and lettuce

-Turkey balls with rice and satay sauce

-Smoothie bowl

-Sweet potato with steak or grilled chicken

-Falafel or chicken in a wrap with lettuce, avocado, tomato

-Savoury muffins

Dinner

For dinner, it will normally be my mums cooking, we occasionally have takeaways like thai, kebabs or chinese but generally mum will make some sort of meat with a variety of vegetables wether that be served on a plate or in a stir fry. Some of my favourite dinners my mum prepares are

-Healthy chicken burgers with homemade sweet potato wedges

-Vegetable lassange

-Frittata

-Butter chicken with a healthy twist

-Burrito bowl

-San Choy Bau

-Pad Thai

I also alternate recipes that I put up on my blog into my diet ( stay tuned for more ) and remember to drink ATLEAST 2 litres of water a day!

One thing that I cannot stress enough is the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people and positive energy. I've found that life becomes a lot easier when you surround yourself with people who radiate positivity and when you refuse to let negative people and energy into your life.

Remove the negative
Negative people get a thrill out of seeing others fail so having them in your life is only detrimental to not only your goals but your life. Negative people can also drain your energy and their behaviour can make an impact on your mood. If there is someone who does not support you or brings you down then the best thing to do is to accept that you cannot change their opinion and ignore their behaviour and just focus on giving your dreams all that you can. Remember that a true friend or loved one are those who bring you up and don't leave you feeling drained or down about yourself. Whilst we cannot control how people treat us or make us feel, we do have control over who we spend time with.

Keep the positive
The more positive people you have in your life the better. Surrounding yourself with people who make you feel upbeat, motivated, happy and alive is one of the best things for you. Not only will positive people help you out when things get tough, they will support you in becoming the best person you can be. Positivity also attracts positivity, so the most positive people you surround yourself with, the more positivity you will bring into your life. So to keep you focused and happy only pay attention to those who make you feel your upmost best.

Remember to be yourself
Really get comfortable BEING YOURSELF, not who someone else wants you to be. I spent along time hiding who I truly was because I was scared that people may not like me or like what I do. You see that's the thing , not everyone will like you and that is perfectly okay. So don't try to people please everyone and focus your attention and energy on those who love you for you and nothing else. At the end of the day if you're not living the best life you possibly can, doing what you want to do and being who you truly are then what's the point ? Always be yourself and do what makes you truly happy.

This vegan snickers shake literally tastes like heaven, it is my favourite thing to whip up when I'm craving something sweet. Made all from whole food, good for you ingredients.

1 frozen banana, cut into large slices

1 cup of almond milk, soy milk or coconut milk

1 handful of pitted dates

2 tablespoons of peanut butter

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 teaspoons cocao powder

Place dates and 1/4 of a cup of milk in blender on high and puree till the dates have broken down. Add remainder of ingredients and blend on medium until your desired consistency. Add 4-5 ice cubes and puree till ice is crushed.
