I have been loving choker necklaces lately! They are such a throwback to the edgy 90s yet add a very feminine touch to an everyday outfit. They are a super easy way to dress up or down an outfit, depending on the occasion and are therefor a great statement necklace in my opinion. Another great aspect of them is that they come in a wide range of styles: a lacy choker for a girly, subtle statement or tattoo swirls for a grungy, rock-n-roll look. A more sophisticated, subtle velvet choker could even be office/work appropriate and elevate an boring everyday outfit to a more put-together look.

I have compiled a college with my favorite choker necklaces at the moment and all the links are to be found beneath the picture-collage. My favorite necklace has the be the birthstone choker from GinaTricot (3). Every month has a different colored stone which makes the necklace more personal and special in my opinion!

So, what is your opinion on the choker trend? Yey or nay? Too much or totally cute? Let me know in the comments below! Until next time, have a great day! xoxo

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope your week has been going well so far and wish you a relaxing weekend. Since I have been working non-stop lately I've been looking forward to unwind this weekend and have some much-needed me-time. I'm looking forward to treating myself to a home-spa session while catching up on some tv-series.

I am also looking forward to starting to paint again since I haven't had much time to be creative due to the heavy workload! After brunch with a friend this Friday, I stopped the local art supply store and picked up some oil paint, new brushes and canvases. I have some great ideas for paintings and hope that I will get around to them.

Online shopping is also a part of me-time and since I have browsed the web for some new potential purchases I thought that I might want to share my wishlist. Zara has been a huge favorite of mine lately and Nordstrom have some really interesting exclusive makeup sets! I have been really into pinkish nudes and earthy brown tones which you probably can tell by my wishlist.

I have tried out some new skincare products this year and found a couple of favorites. I've thus decided to make a little list of items that I've found to make a difference for my skin. Since I have combination/oily skin these picks might not suit everyone, but there are some items on this list that I warmly recommend to anyone, regardless of skin-type. As I compiled this list, I took a number of factors into consideration. Factors such as pricing, availability and utility have been included in making of this list and without any further ado - here are some of my favorite skin care products:

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Wash is my favorite out of all the Neutrogenas face washes: it leavs my skin feeling fresh, my pores uncloged and overall less oily/shiny. It has a fresh, not to overbearing scent to it and I use this wash every morning and night. It doesn't dry out my skin, but it can start to feel a bit too tight when I use too much of the product. This is something that my sister (with very dry skin might I add) also has complaint about. It's however still an amazing products - especially for the great price-point.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion is another product that I use on a daily basis. I find that this toner helps with controlling oiliness in the morning and removing any excess dirt and makeup at the end of the day. My skin is always left feeling very smooth and soft. The only downside I have with this product is that it can make my skin a little bit dry and tight, and it might thus not be the best option for those with dry/sensitive skin.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion has been my go-to moisturizer for a about a half year now. It works great for both my oily/combination skin, as well as my sisters sensitive, dry skin. Its great for hydration and really smooths and plumps the skin. I also find that it works well under my foundation.

Origins Out of Trouble 10 minute mask is a true life saver! I'm serious - this product is true to it's name. It's great as a quick-fix in the morning or before going out, but I most of all recommend to apply a thin layer (it's a very thick and potent mask) on the problem areas at night and sleep with it. The result? Waking up with smooth and significantly improved skin. This is a great way to prevent major breakouts and while some skin spots usually still are there in the morning, the redness and oiliness are greatly reduced. This has quickly become my favorite face mask and I highly recommend it!

Origins Clear Improvement, Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores has become another of my favorite masks for specifically tackling breakouts and oiliness. I bought the mask after having heard my sister rave about charcoal and supposedly how great it is. Charcoal - also known as the “black diamond” - is created from Bamboo Ash and dates back Ming Dynasty in 1486. It's still used today due to it's absorption abilities that makes it act like a magnet - drawing out impurities, debris and dirt. I use this mask weekly and it makes my pores look smaller and my skin appears more clear and my complexion looks more even. The only con is that it tends to be a bit hard to wash off.

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment is probably my least favorite item on this list and I was not sure if I should include it on this list. My mixed feelings stem from that I believe this product to be overhyped and quite expensive. I bought the mask simply because so many Beauty Gurus recommended it and while it leaves my skin feeling smooth, clear and my pores appear to be smaller - I get the same (and sometimes even better) results from other clay based masks. While I like the product I think that it's over priced and I would recommend Origins Active Charcoal mask over this one!

Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair does not really need an introduction. Anyone that has an interest in skincare - or beauty in general - has probably heard about this serum countless times. This product is (unlike GlamGlows SuperMud Treatment) completely worth both the hype and hefty price tag! I was initially worried about putting on oil on my already oily skin - I mean I usually buy products to get rid of the oiliness! I had however been worrying in vain - the serum absorbs quickly and is neither greasy nor heavy feeling. There is no better feeling than waking up after having used the serum since the skin is super smooth, soft and clean. My sister with dry skin noticed even better results in her skin and my mother with aging concerns saw a difference in wrinkles. A huge thumps up!
