Winter is coming, so the most popular sweet now is… chocolate! That is why my most recent order was chocolate cake for Filip’s 7 birthday. I believe, that this cake from high-quality dark chocolate together with milky chocolate mousse and hand-made chocolate decorations, made Filip’s birthday even better :D.

This time there was a bit of a rush in Instytut Matki I Dziecka, as foundation “Herosi” came there to make pancakes with the kids. Almost all kids were taking part in this event, we went straight to the oldest patient - Maciek, as he wasn’t interested in it. We played UNO with him for almost an hour and chatted about the news when his brother and mother came with dinner. After he ate it Maciek and his brother taught me and Karolina new cards game -strategic one. It was fun to learn it and I am looking forward to playing with them once more.

Today was a bit harder than I imagined. Pleased with previous achievements Marta decided to work on the gallop, which brought a lot of difficulties. Takami was tense and didn’t want to cooperate. At the end of the training, I was able to make her relax her muscles a little, but still, it wasn’t what I was going for. However, I am not giving up. On the contrary, I am already waiting for next training to make things better.

For my mother’s birthday, I choose to make pavlova with baked plums and whipped cream. She was really happy when I gave it to her together with a cup of coffee on the morning of her birthday 😊.

For the new school year, I was looking for new voluntary work where I could feel that my help really matters. What I found is “Instytut Matki I Dziecka”. I go there with my friend Karolina Michalczewska. Our role here is to just talk with the patients and their families, make them take their minds of the bad thing for a while. It was really nice to see those kids smile while playing UNO with them. I believe that parents of those kids also appreciate the fact that they could go away somewhere private for a while, where they didn’t need to play so happy all the time.

Takami was doing great on the lunge, so now came time for stretching training with my trainer Marta. We didn’t have any expectations how it should go, not to be disappointed afterwards. However, we quickly acknowledge that Takamki is in much better shape than we could ever imagine. Although it wasn’t a masterpiece, it made us look forward to next training.

I joined Amnesty International in my school. It was after the leaders of Amnesty – Helena Grzywaczewska and Natalia Rokosz, presented us with the idea of “Maraton Pisania Listów”, and I became interested in it. The first meeting was only about how it will look like, and the first step was to decide when we are going to organise bake sales to raise money for the envelopes and stamps.

As my sister is rarely at home now when she studies in Glasgow, I wanted to make something special to greet her. This cake I believe was a perfect choice; shortcrust pastry at the bottom, raspberry jelly with fresh raspberries, whipped cream and meringue with roast almonds at the top.

Sammer comes to end, so I needed to use the last available fresh fruits. With little help of whipped cream and mascarpone beautiful meringue was created ;).

The horse that I am taking care of for Ms. Ela - Takami, finally fully recover from her injury. That is why for this season I prepared a new training plan for her, and I believe that at the end of the year 2018 she will be ready to take part in competitions again.

The first stage is for her to build up a little, especially her back muscles. In order to do this, I lunge her a lot.
