I woke up at 4am to catch a plane at six to Arlanda to change planes and then head off to Zürich. The flights went well. I finished reading the book by Therése Lindgren and listened to some music from Spotify. When we had landed in Zürich we needed to catch the train to Visp to then hop on a bus to Saas-Fee. After almost nine hours of traveling we arrived in the sunny Alp town and I am in love. This place is so beautiful and I can't wait to hop on my skis tomorrow and see what else the mountains has to offer!

Tomorrow at 6am my flight leaves Helsinki Vantaa airport to Zürich. I have never taken a flight that early but life is all about new experiences right? We will see how much zombie-a-like I will be, haha. But, that is not what this post is about. I thought I would show you what I will bring with me on the plane. The Fjällräven Kånken mini will follow me everywhere and you will be surprised with what it fits.

First I have a book, Ibland mar jag into så bra by Therese Lindgren. I started reading it today and I am hooked! Then some must haves when traveling, namely an empty water bottle (that I will fill at the airport) and wool socks. Couldn't travel without them! Next, we have my passport (obviously) and sunglasses. Hopefully it will be sunny in Saas-Fee. The next three things I bring with me everywhere. A pair of wireless headphones, an extra battery and gum. To finish my list I have my toiletries in this convenient see thru bag. There I have my mini tangle-teezer, hand lotion, toothbrush and paste, hair ties, tampons and panadol for surprise headaches. That was about it. What are some of your must haves in your carry-on bag? XO

Tired, excited, nervous and positive.

I got a good nights sleep but still I don't feel ready to go back to school. I loved working at HBL and I wish I could've stayed longer, but that's not the case. Today I have school from 9.30am-3.30pm, tomorrow I have a German quiz about the perfect tense, on Wednesday I have two hours of P.E. and on Thursday I am off with my family to Switzerland! I just have to get thru these boring days and in the end of this week I am skiing in the Alps. This weekend I also made a big decision about my choice of upper secondly school and I am really nervous if I did the right thing, I hope I did. Now I have to hurry off to my first class. Stay positive :).

I miss my bed...

Hello! This week has started really well. I haven't been to school, instead I have been working at the local Swedish newspaper HBL. Remember when I was at the law firm in November? Well this is the same concept. I work a week for whatever company, get no money just the experience. This far I have been loving working as a journalist. I have gotten to make an actual interview and write an article plus I got the opportunity to taste this special type of semla covered in marzipan. Delicious! The best part though is that I can eat lunch in which restaurant I want and today I felt like having sushi so I ordered some makis at Hanko Sushi. Yum. This evening we also went and played badminton with my father and it went extremely well. I am super proud of myself. How has your Wednesday been?

I love to read. No questions asked. The best thing I know is to read about someone else's life and dream myself away to another environment. I don't have a specific genre I like to read. I find a book, read the back of it and if it seems good I read it. Here are three books I read recently, totally different genres but so well written and luminous.

  1. Stanna by Flora Wiström. This book is currently only available in Swedish (sorry but I just had to include it). It's a story about a girl who falls in love with a boy, but she has no idea what journey will follow. Short chapters, easy language but such a good story! I really recommend reading it if you need something a bit more relaxing and that doesn't need your full concentration.
  2. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard is the run up to Red Queen. I started reading Red Queen at the beginning of 2016 and had to wait a year for this book to be released and when it did I was the first one to buy it. It included everything I had expected. Love, braveness, sorrow, fighting and trust.
  3. This is the latest book I have read. I had never read anything like this before and I am so glad I did read this. It got me a whole new perspective to life and taught me to treat everyone the same. I really hope everyone would read this, just do it. It's not that many pages trust me.

What's up? I am actually feeling really good. I haven't been this relaxed and happy in a long time. This weekend has been hectic but at the same time extremely chill. My dad and little brother were out of town for two nights so mum and I have been on our own. We spent our Saturday walking in town, window shopping and buying groceries. We stopped at La Torrefazione for lunch (their chèvre sallad is bomb!) and made vietnamese spring rolls for dinner. In the evening we watched X+Y from Netflix and it was a solid 3/5.

Today I woke up early, eat breakfast and took the train to Vantaa to watch one final in the Finnish Badminton Championships. Though it was early I am really happy that I went, it was a learning experience. At noon I meat up with some of my friends and we strolled around in Kamppi and ate lunch. The weather wasn't that good so we decided to go see a movie. We ended up watching La La Land and I liked it. It was a unique movie and the actors were great, though I think some parts were a bit too long-spun. This evening I still have badminton practice and then my weekend is wrapped up! X

Hello! This Tuesday Patricia and I decided to do things differently when studying to our chemistry test. Instead of going to my or her place we went to this small cozy café at Fredrikinkatu 19 called Brooklyn café. We sat down at the table next to the window with our bagels and drinks. One hot cup of tea and one cup of the most delicious chai latte I have ever tasted. A very successful study session in my opinion. Now I will hope that after a goodnight's sleep I will ace that test. Sleep well. X

Walking over the bridge to Tervasaari

Buddha bowls we made with Ceccan last weekend. This was one with i.a. couscous, chickpeas, mushrooms and kale. Yummy.

I have not experienced a sunrise this beautiful in a while <3

I was walking to see a theater in Kalasatama with my grade and I couldn't put my phone down, the environment was so beautiful

Yesterday I we had a sleepover at Sofia's place. We bathed in the sauna, ate tacos and watched SKAM. A perfect Friday evening.

In this writing moment I am filled with so much positive energy. This day has been so spontaneous and good. I wrote a test at 8am in the morning and had two classes after that. During lunch me and some friends decided to skip the last two classes and go to an open house for a school we are applying to. Don't worry we checked with the teachers. I am so happy I decided to go because I got so much useful information and got answers to all my questions. When I got home I went to the store and bought goods for dinner. I started prepping my veggie lasagna before I went back to school to help at a parents meeting. I sold coffee and cinnamon buns collecting money for Aleppo. When I came home we ate dinner together with my family and now I am going to lie down in my bed and watch Gilmore Girls. XO

Long school day behind. An hour of studying. Carrots and cucumber dipped in hummus. Reading about Harry's second task in the Triwizard Tournament. Up next: grocery shopping.
