Godnatt!
Hey. Haven't written ib english in a looong time. Actually I've barely updated this blog at all, there were simply no energy to keep up with it. Anyway, if anyone haven't been able to translate my last few updates I have now left NJ and moved to CT! My family in NJ wasn't very good and I had felt like I had to get out of there for several weeks when she (the hostmom) finally told me she didn't want me there anymore. Truth is, I didn't want to be there anymore and I think she felt it. During the last few weeks lots have happened. My dad came to visit which was really nice, then I went to a Beyoncé concert which was truly amazing and then I went into rematch (to try to find a new family). First week I stayed with the other family but then my mom, my stepdad and William came to visit and we had rented an apartment so I stayed there. It was so nice having them here and we really just tried to enjoy each other's company. We did all the classic NYC-things (such as Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 memorial, Times sq, Central park.. etc). It was really nice but I felt bad because even though I was with them I kept my thoughts somewhere else; Always on the phone with a new family or my lcc. I spoke to a huge amount of people. With some families it just wasn't right and with other's I gpt my hopes up. Undortunately my ex hostmom had decided to make this process as miserable as possible for me, and as if it wasn't stressful enough not knowing if I'd get to stay in the US or not I freaked out when I found out she'd been saying things about me to other families. Well, let's just say I'm happy I don't need to see her again. I miss my boys though...
So anyway, when my family went back to Sweden I gave up. I started to pack up, I sent some stuff home with them, gave stuff away I didn't really need and I spent as much time as possible in NYC just in case I wouldn't be back in a while. On my last day of rematch (you only have 14 days until your visa is unvalid without a family) I matched with a family from CT. I thought they were great and I decided to give it one last chance. I remember thinking that if this didn't work out I'd not even try anymore. I spoke to them and I immediately felt like that was my match! They were lovely!!
This family has three little girls; Avery, Catherine and Ellie. They're all very sweet and I feel like I've connected with them already. It's so cozy to cuddle up on the couch reading a book or playing in the playroom. As I said they live in CT and I'm just so happy I found them. Well, they found me. I'm still pretty close to NYC (about 1 hour 20 minutes) and it's still pretty easy getting there. From NJ I only had about 15 minutes and there were buses every 4th minute so I never had to plan either when going in or home. Now I do have to plan it a little better but it's still easy and it doesn't feel like it'll be a problem.
Anyway, this week I've met up with some people from here and they're all very nice. There are many au pairs in the area and also many swedish people. This weekend I met up with a girl named Felicia and we went to the city where we met up with Matilda. We had a great afternoon and evening.
Sunday funday; early bird!! Had to wake up really early to get to fluid station mile 18 on time! The day on NYC Marathon. I had almost forgotten that I even signed up in like april, and I regretted it sooo much. Had to get up early and I had a feeling it would be boring. I was wrong. Well, I still had to get up early but once I was there I had a lot of fun!! It was me, Felicia (Mattsson), Minda and Sara and we had so much fun pouring Gatorade inte mall cups. It took forever and we got all soaked in Gatorade (which later got veeeery sticky) but we had fun. At firat there were no athletes and we were just talking but then, once they started coming there were many coming, and we had to work pretty hard. It was fun tho, haha.
Went home later that day and I was sooo tired. Today I've had a good day with the girls but now it's time for bed. I keep on singing that Daniel Tiger's song; "It's almost time to stop, so choose one more thing to do. Well that was fun but now it's time". Good night!
