I feel the need for lighter colours now when the temperature is starting to rise, finally!
Yes, I know I'm the worst person to update my blog. But as I predicted, the last few weeks in school was hectic as never before. I had a lot of fun reports to write but even how fun it was, it was also a nightmare. Even though I thought I had it under control and was half-way through it, the last week showed other than that. But a few sleepless nights and total focus made it possible. A piece of cake, huh? But heyy, I made it and I'm done! This semester also went by so quick, almost too quickly. I had a lot of visits during the weeks which was a blast and I even had time to spend some weekends working. After graduation I had an important decision in front of me. Either I work, in a shop since I'm only here for a few more weeks. Or, I do an internship and actually learn some good stuff. And I got one. Today was my third day as a Fashion Assistant at a PR-agency and I'm really enjoying it. I also signed up for a month of hot yoga in order to get my mind back on track and tone that body.
I know, it's been really quiet here lately, sorry! I'm working on a lot of projects for school which takes some time. This is a draft I did for our Trend Forecasting class where we are going to present four trends.
A throwback to London Fashion Week when I worked with the PR-agency that represents Ashish. The show was so fun & happy. The models wore big afro wigs in rainbow colours that looked like cotton candy. From mini dresses to loose fitted suits, the garments were embellished with millions of sequins. The girls almost danced down the runway to funky beats - It was like a disco!
Throwback to Fashion Week the other day. Yesterday was the last day of school before our 2 weeks long break. I worked at Glassworks today - the store I work at. The rest of the weekend will consist of school work and more work in the store. Maybe I will have some time to relax as well.
Before the show. I had to make sure I knew exactly how the looks were supposed to be like.
One of the models. I really like the deconstructed denim.
One of the cool models.
Eliza is getting fixed before entering the runway.
One of the looks I dressed.
I got the opportunity to be a backstage dresser for A.F. Vandevorst for their show at the main venue for LFW at Brewer Street. I have been backstage before, but this was the first time as a dresser. Being a dresser means that we dress the models after they are done with their make-up and hair and going out on the runway. Me and one other girl were responsible for two looks together with the head of dresser. It was so much fun!! But also stressful because the show is only for about 10 minutes and they are showing two looks. It also has to be perfect, I'm glad we had pictures to look at. The model, Eliza Kukawska was super sweet and really nice. I dressed the two looks you can see in the picture above.
Holly Fulton does it again. Her signature prints were used throughout the collection in an updated version. I love the mix of the cosy knitted pieces, sheer silk blouses and the new focus on outerwear, especially the oversized collars. Monochrome colours dominated with a mixture of pink, shades of green and chocolate brown. Embellished collars and turtlenecks with zippers is something I will definitely keep my eyes open for when AW16 hits the stores.
I went to Columbia Road Flower Market on Valentines day to shoot for my photography class. Since love was in the air this special day, I decided to create a story about people who expresses love in one way or another. It could be the look in their face or just the feeling I had when looking through the lens in the camera. I took 100 pictures for my story but these are the 'best' ones I got that fitted my title - A shot of love.
