Coucou I do not mean that you should never wear make up. I do wear make up on the rare occasion myself. For me, having a healthy looking skin is all I need on a day to day basis 💁 To be honest I think it is quite uncomfortable wearing face make up…

My friend was just in Morocco (so jelly, lol) and brought me back a pair of these amazing scrubbing gloves!

When I was in Morocco a few years ago we visited our local hammam. How beautiful is the entrance on the photo above? 👆😍 There were three different steam baths all with different temperature. Once we had been to all three of them we put black soap on the entire body and afterwards we scrubbed with these kind of gloves on the photos below. Honestly the BEST body scrubbing method I have ever tried! The skin felt smooth like a baby's butt afterwards.

We got to keep the gloves and the remaining of the black soap. I obviously used the soap a long time ago but still frequently use the gloves. I might have overused them and it was time for a new pair, lol. When my friend told me she was going I asked if she could bring me back a pair of gloves which she did, thanks! ❤💁

I just ordered this black soap and if you wish a pair of gloves you can get them here. You can also buy a package with both soap and gloves here.

It is not necessary to use a black soap. I have also used this shower oil (so good! 🙏🏽) for it. All you need to do is to turn the temperature up as much as you can handle in the shower (for some steam), put shower oil or black soap all over your body (turn off shower at the same time to save water 😉) and then scrub away! It is important to scrub until your skin turns red. You do not want to bleed though, lol.

Almonds are extremely healthy and highly nutritious so here comes why you should be eating them 💁

They contain loads of healthy fats, which are important to your brain. These fats will not make you gain weight only brain cells 😜

Besides that they contain loads of Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant fighting the harmful free radicals. Most of the antioxidants are in the skin so peeled almonds are not as beneficial, obviously.

Almonds are low in carbs and high on fats which can help regulate blood sugar control. Which can help you to avoid eating sugar throughout the day.

Because of their high magnesium containment they can lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. This makes almonds a good food for those with high blood pressure and too high cholesterol levels.

I eat them everyday! They are perfect for a little snack or on top of your yogurt/skyr in the morning 👌 Almonds taste so yummy after being lightly roasted on a frying pan. Cut them in to smaller pieces and add to a salad after roasting them lightly 💚

Makula is a skin condition. It simply means that there is a limited area in your skin where the color is different than the rest. There are two different kinds of Makula, hyper pigmentation and hypo pigmentation. In cases of hyper pigmentation you find darker spots in your skin and in cases of hypo pigmentation you find brighter spots in your skin.

Hypo pigmentation can be treated with lasers, medications etc but hyper pigmentation can be improved with skin care products. Once a hyper pigmentation appears it can never disappear entirely again.

Makula can be caused by sun damages, hormonal changes, after inflammation, perfume and medicine.

I, unfortunately, have hyper pigmentation caused by sun damages. They are not severe but still visible. ALWAYS wear sunscreen and do not stay in the sun for too long! To improve my hyper pigmentation I use skin care products containing fruit acid. The products linked above are all suitable if your skin suffers from hyper pigmentation 👆

The other day I got together with some of the girls from my class in high school and we started talking about getting older and the use of eye cream. One of them thought I should make a blog post about it as she was searching a good one, so here goes 😜

Often people tend to think that eye cream is either for "old" people (when are you old? 😄) or find them overrated. There is a very good reason to putting on eye cream, here comes why:

  • Eye cream is formulated differently than regular day or night cream
  • Often day or night cream can contain ingredients which can irritate the sensitive skin around your eyes
  • The eye area is often more prone to dryness, fine lines or wrinkles - caused by sun damages or just simply aging
  • Milias (white heads) around the eye area are often caused by putting day or night cream around your eyes

Last but not least! When you apply eye cream it should be put on the entire eye area (lids included). Often people tend to apply eye creams in a circle around the eye, like from the brow bone to the cheek bone. Creams do not wander anywhere so make sure to apply them where you want them to work their magic 💁

I myself use Exuviance's Hydrating Eye Complex (linked above 👆) and love it 😍

Clogged pores and impurities is a skin condition. Not to be confused with oily skin, normal combination skin or Acne which are respectively skin types and a skin disease.

Clogged pores and impurities can be caused by different things such as hormonal imbalance, using products with comodogenic ingredients such as mineral oils (petrolatum or parafinum liquidium), smoking or just pollution in general and by frictions (never touch your face too much).

If your skin suffers from clogged pores and impurities it might be enough for you to adjust your skin care routine a bit. It is not always necessary to invest in lots of skin care for oily skin. Investing in, for example, a good clay mask can be enough. Other than that investing in a drying lotion (only recommended for spot treatment) or a cleanser for oily skin can be enough too. This, of course, requires that the rest of your skin care is suitable for your skin type. Do never use peel off masks or exfoliators/peeling with only mechanical peeling (corns, salt, sugar etc.) if you have a sensitive skin type.

What is essential to reduce the clogged pores and impurities is to regulate the sebum production (clay is very good for that) and aid the healing of the skin (with C-vitamin for example)!

I am very thankful of how some public female figures, who during our time have shed some light on the empowerment of women and girls and who have engaged in women getting equal rights to men. We have a lot to thank The Redstockings, who fought for female rights, for. The French writer Simone de Beauvoir who wrote "Le Deuxième Sexe" (The Second Sex) was one of the first to talk about feminism in modern times. Today one of the biggest pop icons in the world, Beyoncé has talked a lot about feminism. One thing I do admire about her and agree with her on is that declaring yourself to be a feminist has nothing to do with being feminine or masculine. A woman wearing make-up, using tampons or wearing a bra can be a feminist, appearance has nothing to do with feminism. What it basically is about, is that women and men can and should be able to do and achieve the same things in life. Not only women getting equal rights but also, for example, letting men be sensitive and expressing their feelings which are some qualities we often leave to women. We are slowly getting there but have definitely not reached that goal yet, at least in most Western countries. In some developing countries it is still "normal" to carry out female genital mutilation and that breaks my heart. So many young girls around the world do not get to go to school and are therefore illiterate. So much knowledge that we obtain comes from reading and if you are not able to read a lot of information on, for example your rights, is lost. As Malala Yousafzai said: "One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the World". UNGEI (United Nations Girls' Education Initiative) do a lot to improve the rights for girls to obtain an education. Read about UNGEI here.

Feminism, which I think by some is misinterpreted, is not that women should be superior to men but rather that we should be equal and have the same rights. Something I find harmful in regarding to some public figures who address feminism and equality between the sexes is, that they will bash, mock or make fun of other women. Just recently I saw a video on Instagram of a woman (which I follow and actually admire) making fun of those YouTubers working with make-up. I found that very unpleasant. We should, I believe, always strive to empower and accept all kinds of women no matter their profession, appearance or lifestyle. No matter if we agree with someone or not, feminism should NEVER just reflect one certain type of woman. We come in all shapes and colors and should be able to lead the life we wish without being criticized or discriminated by not only men but also other women!

In recent years there has been a lot of talk about women breastfeeding in public spaces in the media. It has by some been seen as offensive and inappropriate. That is just beyond my mind, how can feeding your child ever be offending or inappropriate? Sexism is offensive and inappropriate! Just recently I received a snap from a stranger on my Snapchat (I was not aware that people who are not my Snapchat friends could send me snaps, they CANNOT anymore). I opened the snap and there was a photo of a guy's private parts. I was shocked and felt very violated! How could a complete stranger to me ever think I could have any interest in receiving a photo of his private parts? It is shocking and completely incomprehensible how some men behave towards women. I think we all have experienced some guy, which you do not know, grabbing your ass. It is not acceptable, very offensive and just disgusting. Also those who will whistle at you or give you a comment like "sexy" when you walk pass them. Like....really? What is the purpose? I often think to myself if a comment like that has ever worked on anyone?

Women do just in a bigger way get remarks on their appearances. I have often come across an article where a female athlete or politician has been criticized for what they were wearing, how their hair looked and what not. I do not think I have come across a similar article about a male athlete or politician.

A couple of months ago I watched an interview with some of the players on the Danish National Handball Team in the men's league getting questions which journalists will often ask their female colleagues such as "what is your best feature" and they looked very astonished and did not know what to reply. Female athletes are not only underpaid but get judged on a lot of other things than just their talent. Unfortunately, that also happens in all other professions. This has to change and I have high hopes for the future! 🙌

It is also very harmful that women are underrepresented in boards and management groups, that there is no equality regarding maternity/paternity leaves and that women often get a lower salary than men do.

I could go on for ages about this subject but I am going to leave it at this. Here is to strong, independent, empowering and encouraging women and men: "May we be them, may we know them and may we raise them". Let us all be our own muse just like the female painter Frida Kahlo and strive to work against suppression and exploitation!

This might not be the typical subject on a beauty blog but I wish to share it anyways!

Supporting NGOs does not necessarily mean financial support. Every little help goes a long way and there are ways to support which only take two seconds of your time.

There are many NGOs out there but here are just two which give you the option to help by signing petitions. Petitions can be very helpful for someones life and circumstances. Red Cross (Denmark) are at the moment gathering signatures to help them get war criminals convicted, sign here. Amnesty International (Denmark) have something called Lifeline, read about it here. It is basically a gathering of signatures, via your phone number, concerning urgent matters, sign up for it here.

I shared a petition on my Facebook page the other day. Read about and sign it here!

I am sure that there are similar opportunities wherever you are in the world 📝 It takes so little time to register and can help a whole lot so check what your possibilities are and start helping now 😁

Sensibility is a skin condition, not to be confused with sensitive skin. Sensibility can be caused by stress, frictions, wrong use of skin care, medicine, weather and pollution. To know whether your skin is suffering from sensibility make sure to check if it feels warm and is red. A sensible skin condition is sensitive to heat, squeezing pressures and too much touching.

If your skin suffers from sensibility it might be enough for you to adjust your skin care routine a bit. It is not always necessary to invest in lots of skin care for sensitive skin. Investing in, for example, a good and soothing toner can be enough. The one I linked to above is LIFE! 🙌 Other than that investing in a face mask or cleanser for sensitive skin can be enough too. This, of course, requires that the rest of your skin care is suitable for your skin type.

What is essential to reduce the sensibility is to soothe the nerves and calm the immune defense!

Drinking lots of water is essential to our well being and here comes an explanation why!

Our body is made by about 2/3 of water which obviously means that all the processes in our body work better when you stay well hydrated 💦

If you suffer from headaches drinking around two cups of water within 30 minutes can help resolve your headache. Drinking water is important to our kidneys which remove waste from our body and help control our blood pressure. It has been shown that drinking water can improve your mood. Dehydration can lead to us feeling fatigued and depressed, so next time you feel very tired and down, try drinking a couple of glasses of water 💦

As mentioned above our body consists of 60% water and drinking water and staying hydrated helps maintain the balance of body fluids. It is especially important for digestion, absorption, circulation and the maintenance of body temperature.

Last but not least staying well hydrated helps your skin looking good and healthy. The skin contains a lot of water and functions as a barrier preventing excess fluid loss. For preventing excess fluid loss using a moisturizer is of course an essential part as well ✌ Drinking lots of water can also prevent fine lines in your skin 💁

I drink around 2L or more of water every single day. If you find it hard to drink that much water try putting a few slices of organic cucumber, organic lemon or lime or all of the three in to your water, its yummy! 2L might sound like a lot but I find that it is all about habit 😊 be consistent, lol.

Drinking too much water is of course not good for us, as you do not wish to flush out all minerals and vitamins from your body, so do not over do it with water intake either 😉

Thank you so much for reading!
