I haven't written a post in a while as the last one I wrote didn't upload for some reason. Also been really busy the past couple of months but trying to be as positive as I can.
I'm gonna be using this blog as kind of inspiration and to keep updating with anything I'm feeling or thinking.

With having some really bad days recently, good days have made me really happy even just small things like being out in the sun or when the sky changes colour (seems odd but I really love beautiful coloured skies and being outdoors on a night)
Just been trying to do things that make me happy and although it's difficult sometimes just have to keep trying x

Most of the time for birthdays or Christmas, my little cousin will give me a separate present or a gift box specially from her and it makes me smile so much! I think it's a really cute idea too and is really personalised for someone, so I've decided to do the same.
It's my mum's birthday on Sunday and I thought of the best personalised gifts to bundle up together for her. Most people I know are easy to shop for and know exactly what they'll like, but if I'm struggling it's hard to go last minute shopping - so I'll go find a really pretty box or gift wrap and put all the collection of presents in it 🎁
Quick piece to say happy birthday to my mum 💕

Volunteering at PDSA today was actually quite enjoyable, pretty proud of myself as today alone I contributed to making 6/7 sales with the items I'd put out! Definitely got a lot of great donations, Doc Martens, fitness equipment, expensive toy models, etc. Although it's just volunteering in a charity shop I do take a lot of pride working there; making sure all the stock I put out is presented nicely, getting everything priced up correctly and knowing I'll be getting a definite job position in my manager's new shop when it's finally open!
Things like that are starting to make me feel a lot better after I have a couple of days of just feeling incredibly fatigued and anxiety being through the roof. Plus, going out Saturday night will be a lot of fun! Making myself busy and actually doing all the odd jobs I need to do makes me feel a lot more organised too - like practising my makeup and trying on all the new outfits I've bought!

You Can Look, But You Can't Retouch!

So a couple of weeks ago Loose Women started a campaign called My Body My Story, women have been sharing pictures of their bodies of themselves in swimsuits/underwear as a way to boost their confidence and show that we do not all have airbrushed "perfect" bodies.
The campaign is about empowering women (and men), gaining confidence and being proud of the body you own. It's okay not to have that perfect beach body social media drills into your head that you 'NEED' to have. Some of our bodies have been through a tough time. Ladies can go through births and operations, and everyone should be proud of their bodies for these reasons, too!

These amazing ladies at Loose Women did a photoshoot in just swimsuits and each gave stories about why they have struggled to love their bodies.

"Scars" "Veins" "I'm 70 So What" "Love Handles"

Something that really stood out to me, Janet Street-Porter was talking about all the different "flaws" us as ladies worry about daily. No matter what age you are you can still be insecure. Scars, tummy rolls, imperfections, hair, cellulite - "they are not flaws, they are NORMAL."
These things are not flaws in our bodies, they are NORMAL. They show what our bodies have been through and what they are capable of doing.
Who decided we all had to look like Kim K to be accepted or considered attractive?
Appreciate all women and all men of all body types! Big or small, our bodies are incredible.

Many people have taken part in sharing pictures of themselves and preaching self worth and self confidence! I, too, have sent in/shared images and told my story. It's not an easy process learning to love yourself and love your bodies, I'm still not quite there yet but I know I eventually will make it to a point where I will not doubt myself. I will not hate my body. I will not pick out all my flaws that only I can see. I will not let social media or the absurd stigma that we must all have a perfect hour glass figure.

Every single person's body is different to the next. It is unrealistic that we must ALL have the same kind of body to be accepted. It's YOUR decision, and it's YOUR body, nobody else's.

2016 April - May throwback:
It's been almost a year exactly to the time I went to New York and it was the best experience of my life so far. If I had the money to go live there right now I'd do it in a heartbeat, it's such an amazing city. In 2 years I'll be returning for my 21st and my mum's 40th - our birthday's are a month apart and marks a milestone (sort of) for us both.
We visited so many great places, my camera roll was definitely over a thousand photos in the 5 days we were there!
Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Grand Central Station, New York Public Library, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Staten Island, Yankee Stadium, Wall Street, 9/11 Memorial Ground, Radio City Music Hall, Madame Tussaud's, Museum of Natural History and Central Park... to name a few we visited.
I honestly can't wait to go back! Hopefully one day I'll be able to move their and start my life properly...

APRIL - MAY:
This is the first time I've read 'milk and honey' by rupi kaur since seeing it all over social media. I literally finished it within a couple of hours, it's such a pure and honest book of poetry that makes you feel like you're reading your own life - if you can relate.
I absolutely love this book with a passion and it's probably my best purchase this week! I also bought myself a couple extra gifts as a treat, I really love the collection I've gathered so far (will most likely write an entry about).
4 chapters of the book are the hurting, the loving, the breaking, the healing all of which represent the phases of relationships of life and, it seems odd, but I like to associate colours with that. Hurting is purple, loving is red, breaking is blue and healing is yellow

First blog post since registering and it's gonna take a bit of getting used to! I'm mainly active on Instagram and Tumblr so feel free to follow on there. IG @lozxstead T: waitwtfwhat

Since this is the first proper blog I've created, not so much like Tumblr, I'll start documenting my life a lot more and in a much easier way. I sometimes go through phases of not posting on social media for a long time because of the need to take a break etc or I simply have nothing to post. Hopefully I'll start using this a lot more often once I get used to it!
