So I decided I'm going to give myself a challenge to read 16 books by the end of the year. That being sad, I'm going to basically redo this blog and make it more concentrated on that instead of what I've been doing so that I can keep my thoughts in one place on the book I'm reading. I'll be deleting this blog and starting one that will be called Liz Reads Sixteen. I'm going to get that up and running by the end of the week!
I love makeup. I have so much makeup and not enough space for it. I'm looking to get a vanity for everything with lots of storage (unfortunately I just had to pay $600 to get my car fixed) to keep everything organized. Anyway that's not what I'm trying to talk about in this post. I actually want to talk about the brand Too Faced!
So far I've tried the Born This Way Foundation, Better Than Sex Mascara and Primed &Poreless Face Primer. My least favorite out of those was definitely the primer. I loved the way it made my makeup look for the first couple hours, but then it seemed to kind of slide off my face.
I was really happy with the foundation! The shade Nude matched perfectly, but sadly it's a little too dark for me now. Vanilla might be too light for me, but I might be able to mix them. Anyway, I love the way the foundation feels on my skin - it feels like but still gives a full coverage (which I need). It does give a pretty natural looking finish as well.
I'm absolutely obsessed with Better Than Sex Mascara. I've never really been into mascara before, but this mascara is perfect for every day use in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of false lashes because I don't like the way they feel on my eyelids. That probably means I'm not applying them correctly, but oh well. This mascara gives your lashes volume and length and it doesn't clump together at all. I've actually found that it separates my lashes very nicely!
Anyway, I highly suggest trying out Too Faced products because I've had some pretty good luck so far! I plan on trying lipstick and bronzer from Too Faced in the near future so I'm sure I'll have something to say when I try those.
We got some more snow! There was a beautiful sunset but I didn't get a very good picture of it. I shoveled our driveway twice and worked out today so I'm very tired but rewarded myself with wine and cheesecake. My mom is probably the best mom I know at cooking meals and baking so I'm so happy she made me a cheesecake to take back with me.
My New Year's resolutions on being healthier (eating better and working out) have been going really well! It was a slow start but I've been really into it lately. I got a Fitbit as well so that's helping me realize just how inactive you are when you work a desk job which is motivation in itself. My other resolutions/goals are still going but I haven't made much headway on them. I still need to ask for my review and raise at work, but I've been applying to a bunch of jobs. No bites just yet though. I've decided to broaden my job search to other cities that I like. So I've been applying to jobs in Chicago and Nashville. We'll see what happens there!
I'm really excited for the Super Bowl on Sunday. As a Giants fan I'm cheering for the Broncos (Peyton Manning) but I think the Panthers will win. I'm actually happy with either team winning but it would be nice to see Peyton Manning go out on top if he decides to call it a career.
We got a couple inches of snow last night and luckily my car has no snow on it. I was parked in a parking garage while I was at a hockey game last night and by the time the game was over the snow had pretty much stopped. Unfortunately, the roads were covered in slush so I slid around a little bit on the way home.
Anyway, I still haven't asked for a raise but the rest of my resolutions are going well. I'm going to ask for a review at some point this week which is when I'll ask for the raise. However, I've been applying to new jobs so hopefully I'll be out of there soon anyway. I think I'll be happier when I do get a new job as well.
Have a good Sunday! I hope it's as lazy as the rest of mine is going to be.
Oh and go Broncos!
For some reason I always create blogs then forget about them and end up deleting them (sorry to those that commented on my other post and I never answered you!). So it comes as no surprise that my first resolution is to keep up with this blog.
My other resolutions go hand in hand. I need to be healthier. So one of my resolutions is to eat healthier, which I already started, and the other is to be more active. I have a goal to go for walks before work and on the weekends. Unfortunately I'm very sick right now so hopefully I can start this sometime during next week, but we'll see. I won't walk on days I have to work both of my jobs since I end up walking about two+ miles at my part time job. I'll work up to running/walking until I can run for around 20 minutes straight before work. If I wasn't so tight on money I would get a gum membership, but I'm definitely due for a raise a work.
I set some goals for myself as well! My first is to ask for my review and for a raise at my full time job before the end of the week. I panic when asking for things so this is actually pretty hard for me.
My second goal is to get a new full time job by June. I've only been with this company for a year and a half but I already feel like I've peaked so it's time to go somewhere else that I can grow at. I would like to be closer to home as well. That hour commute is starting to get to me!
I think that's everything for now. I'll keep everyone updated on my resolutions and goals for this year :) Enjoy the rest of your weekends!
Buona sera! I'm not entirely sure what to write about since this is my first post so I guess I'll start with where I'm at right now. I'm living in Boston, MA and thought now would be a great time to start a blog since I'm thinking about making a big change. I definitely need to make a career change so I'll be posting about that, but I'm think about making a move as well. It's a little intimidating because I don't really know anyone outside of New England, but I think it would be worth it!
So a little more about me: I'm currently working a full time job and part time job, which has worked out really well for me so far. I'm also learning Italian! I'm super excited about this, but I'm still in the beginning stages of that. I'll try to throw in some posts in Italian to keep up on it. I have two room mates that have been pretty great. They're both relatively low key so that's a plus.
Well, that's basically all that's going on in my life. Nothing too exciting, but maybe something exciting will happen soon. I'm currently single, but have more desire to get a dog than a boyfriend so we'll see what happens on that front! Well, enjoy the rest of your day/night!
