"Just ignore the haters!", "Don't let them win!", "Don't waste your time on the hate, there's no point".
Well, to me there is a point in actually addressing the hate. But I do agree that there are two ways of doing it: one productive way and one not so much. I'm very much guilty of using the less productive way a lot when I first started getting hate a few years ago, but I learned pretty quickly that it was very pointless and counterproductive. So I thought I'd explain my thoughts on the subject once and for all.
"I learned pretty quickly that it was very pointless and counterproductive"
So this is one way of dealing with getting rude hateful comments:
Hater: "God you're so ugly, you should take that ugly ring out of your nose you look like a cow. No one will ever want to be with someone who looks like a cow lol go fuck yourself".
Me: HAHAH OKAY LOL YOUR MOM LOOKS LIKE A COW DO YOU THINK I CARE WHAT YOU THINK IMMA LIVE MY LIFE YOU'RE JUST A LITTLE SHIT ON THE INTERNET I DON'T GIVE A FUCK UMMM HAHA AS IF I CARE WHAT YOU THINK.
Hater: You are so fake and wear too much makeup. Guys only like natural girls and why are you trying so hard to be cool in your videos haha you're just an ignorant bitch.
Me: I wear makeup 'cause I don't want to look like you. You're disgusting and just jealous 'cause you don't have a YouTube channel lol go get a life dickhead.
"I direct my comments towards all of you guys, not towards the hater"
Okay. So these are two not so productive ways of dealing with it, based on rage and insults. Basically sinking to their level and letting them drag a reaction out of you, which is EXACTLY what they want. If you react like this, then the hate is going to keep coming until you stop!
There are a lot of public figures who expose their haters on social media just to laugh at them or make fun of them. And yes, sometimes haters are hilarious and it does deserve some laughs 'cause it's just so ridiculous. I have done this too and I'll probably do it again in the future. BUT! When I usually address hate comments that I get, I direct my comments towards all of you guys, not towards the hater.
"I just want to do what I can with the voice that I have"
I could care less about talking back to the hater. They're either insecure or bored and why should I spend my time trying to fix their problems? Not really interested in that. However, I do want to talk about what they have said so that maybe maybe I will be able to change someone else's thoughts that are very similar to the hater's.
I'd rather address the way the hater thinks and talk about it to you guys. Of course, 99% of you probably do not think this way, but I just want to do what I can with the voice that I have, to try to eliminate as much hateful thoughts as possible. I don't do it 'cause I feel the need to defend myself. All I really have to do is delete the comment from my life and it'll be done. It doesn't affect me in the slightest, but I feel that it's a waste of the platform that I have.
As y'all probably know by now I don't do A LOT of outfit videos haha. Mainly 'cause I wear the same outfits every single day, especially now that I work from home - Hello PJs haha. But also 'cause it's a hassle and we don't have any space to film them in our apartment! BUT! I have made one now with some of my favorite fall/back to school outfits!
And if you live in Sweden there's a special contest for y'all in this video together with NELLY.COM and ReveApp. I've mentioned a bunch of times that Nelly is my favorite online shop ever, so this is super exciting. Check out the video and follow me on ReveApp! :D
I'm so sick of hearing that I photoshop my pictures too much or that Ellen photoshops my pictures too much or whatever else y'all think you know haha. Here are before and after pictures from my latest shoot. Yes, we do fix the light a lot in Photoshop after taking the pictures, but that doesn't "change the way I look" hahah. I don't change my features! I don't make myself skinnier! We just make them look a bit more fresh than what comes straight out of the camera, mostly 'cause we're on a budgen when it comes to lighting and we don't have all the professional equipment. So yes OF COURSE my pictures are photoshopped. But I do not understand what all the haters are crying about hahah. This is why I look like. Sorry if you don't believe it.
So today I decided to do a live stream for the first time on YouTube in celebration of reaching 80,000 subscribers! Only 20k away from 100,000! Yay! It was so much fun to talk to you guys live. Loved answering all your questions and stuff! If you're interested in watching it here it is haha. But it is 2 hours long so maybe it's not super interesting ^^ Up to you!
Don't have any plans for the rest of the day. The weather is nice but I don't really feel like going outside haha. Sundays are such pointless days. All businesses are obviously "closed" for the weekend so I won't get any email replies until tomorrow... Just waiting, being kinda bored. But oh well! Got a week of videos to plan I guess. :)
