Since I have had to stay at home at home for the last few weeks now, I have not been able to go outside and enjoy my regular life. One thing I have really missed quite a lot is being able to go to different stores to buy makeup and clothes. However, thanks to modern technology, there is a glorious thing called the Internet. Last week I decided to go online beauty shopping and my orders finally came in the mail! Since I finally stocked up on a few of my essentials, I thought it would be a good time to share it with you all.

Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish (Exfoliator) - Available at Ulta as well as here.

Since a few days ago, I have only tried Benefit's makeup products, but never their skin products. I thought now would be as good of a time as any to try out something new. For me, clean and soft skin is an absolute must. I have to admit, since I have been at home for so long and haven't had much energy, I have been a little lazy with my cleansing routine, so my skin started to get a bit dry. Time for an intervention. I expected this product to be quite good considering Benefit is such a highly rated brand, but I certainly did not expect it to exceed my expectations by so much. Within one exfoliation my skin was completely smooth and silky. I have tried many exfoliators, however this one trumps them all by far. Not only does make your skin extremely smooth in one go, it is not harsh on the skin at all. I am absolutely LOVING this exfoliator and would not be able to recommend a better one at the moment. Not only do I love the product itself, but it also comes in a super cute box and bottle!

Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion- Available at Ulta.

I've always found Benefit to be a very good brand, however after testing out these products, I am more than surprised about how well they work with my skin. After trying out Benefit's exfoliator I decided to test the moisturizer as well. The only way I can describe this moisturizer is completely PERFECT. Once I had finished the exfoliating and moisturizing routine, my skin was softer than I have felt it in a long time. When I first bought the product I was a little worried that it would make my skin oily throughout the day because it is quite creamy, however this was not the case and left my skin at a perfect medium. The moisturize is quite condensed so it's really only necessary to use a few pea-sized amounts for a complete coverage. One thing I was also a bit worried about when I first bought this product was that it looked like it would not have an attached pump. When it comes to bottles that you have to pour the makeup or moisturizer out onto your hand, I am really not good at it and often pour too much and make quite a mess. However, much to my surprise and delight, when you pop the lid off of the bottle, there is actually a pump, which makes things quite easier! Similar to the exfoliator, the moisturize comes in the cutest little bottle and I absolutely love it. It is a glass bottle though so I do have to be extra careful I don't drop it.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer- Available at Ulta

Based on my two previous products, one could only guess that this one as well is most likely a Benefit product. That is absolutely the correct guess. I actually have not tested out this product because I have had not had the need to as I haven't been out in a while. However, I was watching a Zoella Youtube video and this product really caught my eye, so I decided to buy it so I could test it out in the future. When it comes to bronzer, I am not a sparkly kind of girl. I find that the shiny, glittery look makes my face look too shiny and oily and prefer to go for a matte look, whereas many people prefer the dewy look, which is perfectly pretty as well. For those of you who like a matte looking finish, or just a matte bronzer, this seems like a great pick. One thing I really really liked about this product was that it was a pretty neutral color and not too dark, whereas I normally have a hard time finding bronzers that are not too dark for me. This bronzer is perfect for adding some natural extra color to your skin on the forehead, cheekbones, and jawline. I cannot guarantee it, but I have a feeling I will really be loving this product once I have started using it.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer- Also found at Ulta and here.

Last, but not least, the one and only product that I did not buy from Benefit, the Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox. I haven't opened my primer because I have not had a need for it yet, however, I have borrowed it from a friend before an evening out, and I can say I was thoroughly impressed. When I put it on, my face felt very soft and smooth and it was very light weight and fresh. Before this instance I was never really a primer-goer, except here and there on certain occasions. Since then, my thoughts on always using a primer under my makeup has completely changed. My makeup held throughout the evening, but also made my makeup look a lot better and smoother to begin with. I have tried other primers since then, but none have them have satisfied me as much Smashbox's primer. That being said, I took to Smashbox's website to see what other choices there were and if any were better. When I saw all of the MANY options of primer they had, I realized how much more I need to learn about the world of makeup. After doing a little soul searching, I decided to stick with the classic primer, as I really could not see the great differences and benefits of between the classic one and the others. I am sure there are downsides and upsides to each product, however I was most experienced with this product and found it worked extremely well for me with no visible downsides.

~I highly recommend each of these products and hope you enjoy them as well if you already have them or choose to go out and purchase them. Let me know what you think or if you have any new recommendations about new products!~

Today, the watch that my mom ordered for my birthday came in the mail! The watch is called The Fifth, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The watch style I chose is the Melbourne Minimal in Rose Gold+ Peach. The neat thing about these watches is that they are limited edition and they are released on the fifth of every month and are only available for a few days or until they are sold out. After they are sold out or if you have missed the opportunity, you have to wait until the fifth of the next month. The company is Australian, so if you want to be sure you order the watch in time, you may want to look at the date and time in Australia, as they are on a different time zone. For those of you in the United States, you will be able to order the watch on the fourth because of this time difference. At the moment, the watch comes in two different styles with different colors for each style, however that may change with their new watches. Since my birthday was October 5th, my mom thought this would be a great present and I completely agree. I love this watch and highly reccoment it.

I have lived in Houston for the majority of my life and have become fairly familiar with the area. Houston is a very lively city with great job opportunities, restaurants and shopping. Throughout the years of living here I have come across some amazing places worth looking into if you haven't already.

  • First and foremost: Food

-Coppa Osteria: |5210 Morningside Dr. Houston, TX| Cuisine Type: Italian

I do have to admit, Coppa can be a bit on the expensive side depending what you choose on the menu. However, despite the price, this restaurant is definitely a great pick for special occasions.

-Lowbrow Bar and Grill: |1601 W Main St. Houston, TX| Cuisine Type: American/ Southern

Located in the the Montrose/Museum District, Lowbrow is a great, funky neighborhood bar and eatery to meet for lunch or Sunday brunch. If you are in a hurry and want to have a quick lunch, Lowbrow is not the place for you as the service can be slow at times. However, if you are not in a hurry, the food is absolutely well worth the wait. For those who are 21 and older, Lowbrow serves alcoholic beverages throughout the day and evening.

-Cafe Brasil: \2604 Dunlavy St. Houston, TX\ Cuisine Type: Cafe/ Light Food

Cafe Brasil is an artsy, hip, coffee shop very popular for it's atmosphere during the daytime and nightlife. Many nights, Brasil has live music which often draws large crowds to it's outdoor patio seating. However, parking in this area is very difficult, so it is possible you may have to part a few blocks away and walk there.

-H-E-B's Friday Night Food Trucks: \1701 W Alabama St. Houston, TX\ Cuisine Type: Assorted

Every night on Fridays, food trucks from all over Houston drive to H-E-B and set up their stands and their trucks. Additionally, there is a large area for seating in front of a stage where live music is played. This is a perfect place to go on a nice cool night with friends to enjoy a wide variety of foods.

  • Leisure: Shopping, Outdoor Life, Night Life, Other Activities

-Rice Village: \2526 Rice Blvd, Houston, TX| Leisure Type: Shopping

To my surprise, not as many people have heard of Rice Village as I expected. Rice Village is an outdoor shopping center with many different stores and restaurants. Stores include: Urban Outfitters, Express Women/Men, Victoria's Secret, Sephora and many great independent shops and boutiques. Rice Village is a popular place to walk around with friends, shop, eat, and enjoy the live music at night time.

-James Turrell's Skyspace: \Located in the Rice University Campus| Leisure Type: Outdoor/Night Life

James Turrell's Skyspace is an art, light installation located in the center of the university campus. Every day, except Tuesdays, at sunrise and sunset, the installation turns on for about an hour and changes many beautiful colors. The exhibit stays on until 10:00pm, but after the sunrise/sunset exhibit it only stays one color. This is a great place to visit at least one time, whether you live in Houston or are just visiting. While you are there, you can take a walk around the campus. There are often many college students and other visitors walking around, as the campus is quite old and pretty.

-Discovery Green: \1500 McKinney St. Houston, TX| Leisure Type: Outdoor/Other

Discovery Green is a very unique area located in Downtown Houston. In the center of the park in the middle of Discovery Green there is a large pond, which in the warm months, has kayaks to rent that you can row around in for a small fee. In the winter time Discovery Green freezes over the pond and allows people to go skating on it. Next to the pond there is a large stage and there are many live concerts which are worth watching.

~Let me know if you want more posts like this, I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment.~

On Monday, October 5, it was my birthday! Although I was home for medical reasons, it was still a great day nonetheless. I woke up around 10:30am to fine some presents from my parents sitting on the living room table. Can I just say that my parents are the best and I absolutely adored the presents. Later in the day I was watching T.V. and catching up on some schoolwork, when suddenly I heard the doorbell ring. When I opened the door, I saw my teacher standing outside with a giant balloon and two cards! One card was signed by all my teachers at school and one was signed by almost all of the students at school wishing me a happy birthday and a quick recovery. I was beyond surprised, this was the last thing I expected. Overall, I had an amazing birthday filled with so many birthday post, texts, and snaps! Even though this birthday was different than most years, it was still fantastic. Thank you to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday!
