Here are some pics of our trip!

Hey guys! Now we are at the airport and waiting for our flight back home that lifts at 13 pm. Before the plane takes off we thought it would be a great idea to update the blog and readers!

This trip has really been amazing and relaxing, so we do not want to go home yet, but what to do?
We had the best time over here and we are so lucky that the time we had was developed and that we got the chance to do this trip with each others. We have seen and experienced so much and believe it or not, we have actually learned quite a lot. And we can not forget the tan ;) We have had the best weather over here and the beaches here is so beautiful and fantastic. This trip is something we've never forgotten and hopefully, we will be back soon!

Hope you have enjoyed our blog! Hugs xx

Hey everyone! I hope everything is alright with you. I am going to tell you something reaaaally cool that happened today! We we're on our way to the beach and who do we meet? The Prime Minister!! His name is Andrew Michael Holness for you who did not know. He is the youngest prime minister in Jamaica's history. We had a really good chat and asked many questions because he just got voted by the population. He was really funny and had a good sense of humor. To be honest I got a little bit starstrucked, and I just needed to get an selfie with him.

Tonight he will come by our house and visit, he knew one of our chefs so they are going to cook some diner for us girls. How cute? Politics is apparently not the only thing he is good at. I think politic is so fascinating. You really need politic in an society to make it work. You need different parties to vote on so everyone can feel that they belong to someone’s valuations, so they later can share that with someone and carry on/spread those opinions. I’m looking forward to the diner, have a good night!

Jamaica may be the ultimate paradise for tourists, all we think of when someone mentions Jamaica is white sand, waterfalls, reggae music, but the economic conditions in Jamaica lead to a hard life for many of its citizens. They are suffering and money is the reason why.

As we all know, misery exists all over the world, and we saw a lot of it here in Jamaica, their social and economic conditions need a lot of work, their tourist attraction is a major money maker, but at the same time I think that their attractions are only a great picture on the outside, but in the inside people are working every night and day to survive.

You may think: how are they handling their current situation? The answer is that many families tell their children to make money, by putting them to work in early ages, like we see a lot of in the streets, children that are selling food etc. to make money to their families.
As you know, Jamaican people are well known for their religion, Rastafari, that stands for that you shall be a good human being no matter what, and I think that many of the population are trying to, by earn money and divide it equally with their families.
Except their economic conditions, Jamaica is a beautiful country with great human beings.

Something we all have noticed here in Jamaica, is that the people are very passionate about enjoying life. They are not ones to sit and watch television. There's often many activities going on and so much to do over here. Yesterday we got invited to play cricket, which is the most popular sport here. None of us have ever tried that before so we thought it would be fun. Apparently the sport can go on for days so we should see how this goes. But before we go we need to get up and get some breakfast because we're starving. The breakfast over here is amazing. It's so fresh and so good! I'm going to miss that a lot haha :)

I think we need to go now, but have a good day! Hugs xx

Today we were at a church. That maybe sounds weird, but it was really beautiful. Why we even got there was because we wanted to see how the Jamaicans lives. Most of the people in Jamaica are Christian. The church was beautiful inside. There was painting and similar in the church. But we also went there because it was going to be a gospel choir performing. We stayed and watch the show and it was AMAZING! It was music in another way. They were so talented and it was so powerful. I envy people with voices like that.
The church we were at was called St. James Parish Curch.

We did not film or take any photos in the church, most because of respect, but also because we were so fascinated by the choir. But we toked some pictures outside the church so I throw in a picture for you guys. Can't stop thinking of how amazing they were.

We had a wonderful time and we really recommend you to go see something like that. If it's not in Jamaica, doesn't matter, it will be beautiful anyway.

Now we are having a nice dinner. And then we are just going to relax the rest of the night. Maybe take a dip in the pool. Hope you'll have a nice evening and take care of yourself a little extra.

See you tomorrow.
Goodnight!

This is Dunn’s river falls in Jamaica. We visited it today and it was so beautiful! Dunn’s River Falls is is one of Jamaica’s national treasures, it’s close to Ocho Rios. Dunn’s River Falls has a fascinating history. It is said to be the location of the legendary battle of "Las Chorreras". This battle was fought in the year, 1657 and took place near Dunn’s River Falls. It was between the English and the Spanish Expeditionary Force from Cuba. The battle was in fact for ownership of the island.

Anyway's we’re exhausted from today’s adventures so we just ordered some rooms service to our hotel room. Tomorrow’s an exciting day so we decided to go to bed early today. Good night!

Jamaica has a lot of history and to be here feels very cultural and exciting. Today we rented a car and went to Discover Bay that took about an hour. We visited Columbus Park Museum here on the island which we all thought were really interesting. The museum is an open-air museum so we spend all day outside in the sun, so we got a good tan!

We had a guide who showed us around and he was so nice. He told us so many things about the history of Jamaica, especially about Christoffer Columbus, who sailed to Jamaica in the late 15th century. They had a place in the Museum where Columbus had landed on when he came to Jamaica. It was so cool to actually stand on a spot that one of the most known people in history also had stood on.

The museum wasn't that big but the time flew by so fast. I think that the view and the weather made it all so much better :)

Hope you all had a good day, because we sure did!

Wow! What a night!

Hey, everyone! Since all of us is 18 years old we couldn't wait to discover Jamaica's hottest nightclubs. Before we went here someone told us ''when the sun goes down, Jamaica comes alive'' and we all have to agree! there was everything from reggae beats, live music and dancing on the beach until dawn. Amazing!

So let's start from the beginning. After a day of relaxing at the pool, we ate a delicious meal at the hotel. That day they served ackee and saltfish which is the national dish of Jamaica. We were so full in the stomach after that so everyone needed a nap before we started to get ready.

We all decided to wear something light weighted because of the hot wheater that night. After about 2 hours later we went along with a group of guys here at the hotel who comes from London. They have been here longer than us so they showed us the first nightclub which was a total success!

The night life is really easy to summarize, great people and great music. Before we went to bed (which was about 5 in the morning btw) we talked about the differences in social life between Jamaica and Sweden. The people here is a lot more outgoing and not afraid to be them self. A lot of people here in Jamaica came over to us and started a random conversation which was really fun, we feel that Swedish people are a little bit more reserved.

Anyways, if you’re ever going to Jamaica you have to experience the nightlife here, it’s totally different from Sweden for example. If you do, make sure that you’re a group of people and not by yourself! Have a good day loves!

Today's date is 3 Mars 2016.
When we landed in Montego Bay, we went straight to the mansion and fell asleep.
The journey was rough but worth it. The villa we live in, that also have everything you need as a tourist, and a little bit more costs around 140 thousand SEK and the flight tickets cost 46 thousand SEK. As we wrote yesterday, we flew with British airways and recommend the airlines to travelers.
We planned this trip about a week ago, I know, very spontaneous huh?
Anyways, we are looking forward to living here in 14 days. Jamaica is a beautiful island with a lot of traditions.

When we woke up we ate some food that our chef had made to us, it was tasty and consisted jerk chicken and rice. The Jamaican food and the Swedish food has a lot of similarities, such as potatoes, rice, chicken, beef etc.
We find the Jamaican culture very interesting, me and my friends actually did explore them today. There is street art everywhere you go, dancing people and Jamaica is well known for their music. It is very different for us, that comes from Sweden, to visit a part of the paradise of rich cultures, also known as the Carribean Carnival, that is a term used for a number of cultural events.
Jamaican people are very genuine based on their religion, Rastafari. People are open minded, and their passion they have for their land and culture is amazing.
In Sweden, there is no such thing as ‘’dance is a part of our daily life’’ am I right?
But here, on this island, there is. Dancing comes in any form, such as handsclaps and swaying hips.
We went to a club, and learned some of the dance moves, I can tell you, that it was an experience for a tourist from Sweden, because they use dancing to communicate with each others.

What I want to say to you, readers are that Jamaica is nothing as Sweden, here they attach value to their culture, the people have more passion for their island, and the bonds between the people is warm and loving.

Take care!
