Today will be my first thanksgiving ever, and I want to take the opportunity to think about what I`m thankful for. I`m lucky to say that I`ve always had a lot in my life to be grateful for, and after this exchange year the list is even longer.
First of all, I`m thankful for my hostparents, for being the best American parents I could`ve asked for. Even though everything was overwhelming at first, I always felt at home here because of you.
My hostsiblings also made sure I felt at home here. I am thankful for all three of them, and for how they always make me laugh. Even though they drive me crazy sometimes, I could not have asked for better American siblings.
I am thankful for the Leesburg High School band, for welcoming me and letting me be a part of all the craziness for a year. I have already learned so much from it, and I can`t wait for all the other things I`ll get to experience with the band. Another outcome from being in the band, is all my lovely band friends. I`m thankful for all of you, and my year really wouldn`t be the same without you.
My exhchange year has also lead to many exhange friends. I am thankful for all my exchange friends for always being there when I need someone to talk to. It`s good to know that I have people who can relate to what I`m going through and the challenges you might face when you`re doing an exchange year.
I am thankful for the cross country team, and the cross country girls for always making my day better and being some of the best friends I`ve made here.
I am thankful for all my friendships at home for being strong enough to last even though we`re so far away from each other for so long.
I am grateful for my Grandparents. Even though I miss them a lot, being here also makes me appreciate them and everything they do for me even more.
Being here actually makes me appreciate all my family at home more, and I am thankful for all of them.
I am thankful for my twin brother for being by my side literally all my life.
Last but not least, I am thankful for my parents. For giving me life, and now the chance to make a whole new life in America. I am forever grateful that I have parents who love me and who gives me the opportunity to do what I love.
