Is it just me or is everything oreo flavoured crazy delicious?
I had actually never tasted a oreo cookie until a few weeks ago and to be honest, I had really high hopes because I'm oppressed with everything else with oreo flavour. But I was a bit disappointed, it was just an ordinary cook...
Although, ordinary is definitely not a word I would use to describe this cake. I would rather use two of my favourite words; crazy delicious!
The cake itself has a muddy inside with a little crunchiness from the crushed cookies, the melted marshmallows creating a tough but fluffy layer and the chocolate fudge-like topping making it feel like heaven. I love this cake.
So here is how you make your own:
For the cake:
- 150 g melted butter
- 3 dl sugar
- 1 dl cacao
- 2 tsp vanilla suger
- 2 eggs
- 2 dl wheat flour
- 1 pack of oreo cookiesde
For the topping:
- 300 g white chocolate
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 100 g room temperatured butter
- 1.5 dl cream
- 1 pack of oreo cookies
- 1 pack of mini marshmallows
Do like this:
Melt the butter and let it cool down.
Add the ingredients to a bowl, take one egg at a time and end with pouring in the milk.
Roughly chop the Oreo cookies and mix them with the batter.
Pour the batter into a geared and breaded springform tin.
Bake it in the middle of the oven, at 175 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes. But this time varies from oven to oven, so keep an eye on your cake and when it's not runny or very muddy, it's done. You can dip a toothpick in the middle of the cake and it if the cake/batter doesn't stick to the toothpick, then it's done.
