Today we did a walk up in the mountains behind the hotel we are staying at in Port Portals. On the map it did not look like such a big effort - maybe a 2-2.5hrs walk - but turned out to a uphill 5 hr hike up to a hilltop :-) and down again. But it was a great walk through- really easy to find the path and great views over both Palma and Magaluf. We did not bring any food and only a couple of small bottles of water so we were both starving and thirsty when we arrived back in Port Portals around 3pm. We finished off the day with a great early dinner at the French/Lebanese restaurant Le Socrate in the harbour! Talk to you soon! E

Today we took the train from Palma to the little town Sóller. It was a very scenic ride over the mountains on an old train dating back to the start of the century. Sóller was very quiet this time of the year but luckily the amazing fish restaurant Kingdisher in the port of Sóller was open and very busy. I had hole grilled fish that was absolutely amazing. Tomorrow we will do a walk up into the mountains behind Porto Portals and then spend the afternoon at the beach.

I have never been to Palma but I was very positively surprised- what a little beautiful city! A mini-Barcelona. By the sounds of it Palma has gone from being quite heavily crowded with tourist to a more luxury destination. We visited the magnificent cathedral, strolled up and down Born street, had great tapas and wine at Ombu, afternoon cocktail on the roof terrace of Can Alomar. The kids behaved :-) and we finished off with getting take away from a fish restaurant close to our hotel. Tomorrow we will do a train ride to the little town Solle. Talk to you soon! E

Welcome to my new blog! Here I will share my life as a equine vet, mother and wife. Sometime it’s not an easy combination but most of the time it’s working really well and I have to say I love life! At the moment I’m with the family on a vacation on Mallorca as me and my husband really needed a break after a few weeks of kitchen renovation! Also the kids enjoy having both parents full attention for once ☺️ - a win win situation 👍🏻 Talk to you soon again! E
