I actually don´t have a specific role model. Like some people have an artist or a sportsman that they look up to. I don´t. When it comes to clothes and furnishings I guess I have always been searching for inspiration and also getting it from everyone and everything I can get my eyes on. I love scrolling around on H&M or Zara. And my favourite website of all time is Hemnet. Or Tumblr. I love daydreaming about how I will decorate my future apartment. What colours it will have and where it will be.

Me and my mother we could sit on an outdoor seating on a café in Gothenburg for hours if we had the time, just to look at all the people passing by. Or walk around the halls of IKEA. That is probably my favourite thing to do on a cloudy sunday. I think about what colour my kitchen will have. Which tile I will have in my bathroom. Or what kind of bed I will have. That is what I get inspiration.

When it comes to personality and what kind of person I´d like to be, I think that I am my own role model. Or I don´t know if you can say that. But I always try to be the best version of me. Of course sometimes I want to be like someone else but usually I am happy with being me.

So instead of having a role model. The world is my inspiration.

Suffragettes is a word that I have never heard of before. Or at least I have never heard of the meaning of it. But when I read this article I realized that we nowadays just use another word. Feminist.Well I guess that the real suffragettes where the first feminists that fought for our rights.

I love people that set thier mind to do something, something that is good, and then do all they can to make it happen. That is exactly what the suffragettes did. These women where not happy about how they where treated by the ones in power, especially the men, and they did something about it. Or at least they tried. We should all be super passionated about something and then try to achieve it. For example if you already know what kind of job you want when you get older you should do everything in your power to make that happen. Or if you have a big dream you should do everything to make that come true.

That is exactly what the suffragettes did. They had a dream, for all the women, and they tried so hard to make it come true. The awful thing is that we should not even have to fight for our lives just to get the same rights as all the men. As Emily Davison did when fighting for womens equivalence and rights.

I admire the women that fought and fight for our rights. I admrie their determination and their courage. But I hate that our society have always looked like this. And it´s unfair that the women did not have the rights to vote or that we don´t have the same salary as the men. When will our society be equal and when will we not have to struggle to be treated the same? Everyone is different. Thank god for that. But we are also the same. We are human. And you should not be treated differently just because ju happened to be born a girl.

Pasung is a common word in Indonesia. It is a word for what currently about 18 000 people are exposed to. Mentally ill people are chained or even locked up. Their realtives lock them up or chain them because they feel ashamed of them. Just because they are different and don´t act like everyone else. That is manly what pasung means. People exposed to pasung can have their ankles bound with chains or wooden stocks, for hours, days, weeks, months or even years.

Almost 40 years ago Indonesia forbade the practice of shakling people with chains or similar. Even though, a lot of people are still chained or locked up in institutions, where they live under awful conditions, according to a report from Human Rights Watch. This does not only happen in Indonesia, but also in other parts of the world.

The families of the mantally ill people lock them up because they are afraid what other people will think and they can´t deal with that. Appearently one man kept his daughter chained for 15 years because he feared that she had been bewitched and didn’t have the money to take her to a doctor. In a case like this I think that this mans stupidity is because of little knowledge. And maybe if he would have got the help that his daughter needed from the helathcare he would´nt have done what he did.

I have never heard of "pasung" before but now that I have done some more research I understand that it is a common thing. This sounds so unreal to someone like me. Who lives in a country where we have good healthcare and even, when comparing to Indonesia, a good view at mental illness. Because I can´t even emagine how it must be. I can´t believe that some people, even lots of, can have such a wrong view at the world. And it is hard to believe that for some, this is not hard to belive. Because we live in a time where war, violence, bullying and more are not unusual.

I think that kindness is the key to everything. So if all humans could just be a little bit more kind the world would be a better place. But of course it´s not that simple, I do know that. But sometimes I wish.

I like to write in english. I feel like I can express myself in a different way than I do in swedish. I kind of become another person. or at least I feel like another person. I think that if you write or even speak in english it does not only sound different but it makes another meaning. If I say "i like you" in english it feels different than it does if I say "jag gillar dig" in swedish. maybe it´s because you can say so many different English words but still say the same thing.
