I wake up by a horrible headache, my watch shows 4AM. I feel weird, my heart is beating faster, and even harder than usual. I get up, realizing I’ve slept on the floor of the vehicle – a recreational van. Urgh, I must’ve drunk too much last night, the hangover feels like cancer.
The forest is way too quiet today, not a single sound is coming from thisisland, it’s bothering me, I just can’t stop thinking about it. In the next second I could feel a bounce into the vehicle.
I get up quickly, heading to the door. I get out of the vehicle in order to figure out what caused the bounce. I hear someone breathing, but I cannot identify where it originates from. I grip my slingshot firmly, in order to aim more distinguished. As I walk further, the breathing comes closer. I hear someone break a branch behind me, I turn around quickly. I can’t believe my eyes, and I neither want to. There’s a zombie standing 5 inches away from me, what am I supposed to do? I aim my slingshot against him, and then fire - pointless. Why would a stone shot by a slingshot prevent a zombie from attacking me? I turn around in purpose of getting away from this monster.
As I head back to my vehicle, I realize there isn’t just one zombie, there are several of them. I had no Idea I could run this fast, I felt like he-man. As I arrived at my van, I jumped inside and turned the engine on. I made an attempt to flee from the zombies, got out on a straight road and then just accelerated. My heart beat fast. As I leer to the rearview mirror, I draw the conclusion that the whole forest is heading towards me, or atleast trying.
FOUR WEEKS LATER
I’m at the top of a mountain nearby Fårön, and I’m so glad I haven’t seen/heard a zombie in about two days now. Are they gone? I don’t know. All I can think of is food and water. I haven’t eaten/drunk since Wednesday, which is two days from now. As I look through the window of my van, I spot a water source at a savanna. Without a doubt I grab my water container and then head to the source, I feel lucky. Within a few minutes of walking I hear a sound coming from the above, a helicopter. I become lyrical. Without even thinking I start to wave and jump, in hope of getting help. As I act like a retard, the helicopter comes closer, and even lower. They must have seen me. I feel like the luckiest man alive. As the helicopter arrives to the grass I see a several faces inside which are very familiar, and within a few seconds I realize that it is my family that have come to save me.
