Do you knowthe feeling, when you’re doing something you actually hate? You force yourself to get up in the morning, trying to find SOMETHING positive about the thing you’redoing. If you can’t find ANYTHING positive, you try to reward yourself for doing it. Maybe you’ll buy a new phone or eat a lot of candy after the thing is done. For me, this reward has always been going abroad, just getting away from everything and everyone.
Lately I’ve been wondering, what kind of life is this?
The scary thing is that most people seem to have a life like this, a life where everything is about waiting. People wait for their workday to be over, for the weekend, for Christmas-holidays, summer vacation…. But why? Why do people put themselves in a position where they can’t live a fun and happy life, all the time? Most people have a clear answer to this statement, it’s because you need an education to get a job to get money to get whatever you want. And you need to do it in exactly the same way as everyone else. Finish the compulsory schools and then continue to a school where you get an actual degree. And this degree better be a normal one; a degree which leads you into a normal job, with regular working hours and a monthly salary. Then you need to work, a lot, to maybe once a year, if you’re lucky to get some weeks off work, have time to do something you actually enjoy.
In my opinion, this might be the most stupid thing about our society nowadays. The problem is that people actually never have time to live. We listen to others and try our best to live up to their and to the society’s expectations. We are brainwashed to think that this is the only way to live. Some people, a few chosen ones, learn to be happy in a life like this, a normal life, and be happy about “the small things in life”. The rest of us never are truly happy, we just sit here and accept the fact that this is the way it is.
Still the BIGGEST question remains, how do we get away from this? How do we get the courage to do something totally different? Cuz I’m extremely done with only being happy at some moments. I want to be happy all the time, every second.
