Big City Life

The original Blue Hill restaurant, opened in 2000, is located in Greenwich Village, New York City. Hidden three steps below street level, the restaurant occupies a landmark "speakeasy" just off of Washington Square Park.

Blue Hill's menu showcases local food and a wine list with producers who respect artisanal techniques. Ingredients come from nearby farms, including Blue Hill Farm in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, a forty-five minute drive from New York City. Guests can choose from the four-course "Tasting Menu" or opt for the "Farmer's Feast," a six-course tasting inspired by the week's harvest.

Big City Life

When living in a big city like New York you meet a lot of new people. Most people you never really talk to or have a real conversation with. Sometimes, watching people you wonder what their lives are like, what they do for a living, what kind of friends they have, if they're in love and if they have a family. You also think about what they might think of you. Do they wonder the same things about us, that we wonder about them?People are such a big part of the world and everything we do involve other human beings.

Yesterday we went to the American Museum of Natural History and we went to this exhibition called "Dark Universe". It's basically about how small and meaningless us people are to the universe and its existence. We are such big part of the world, but yet such a small part of the universe. I makes you wonder; Why do we give a f*ck about what other people think about us and wonder what kind of life they lead? Why do we care so much about our own existence? Why is life centered around us, focused on us and not about existence outside of our world? What does even existence mean? I have no idea, and neither does anyone else, so why are we even writing about this? Because we're curious living organisms, in a most complicated and unexplored universe, eager to know it all and by that feel complete and satisfied with our lives. Although, the more we learn, the more questions we will have.

So, the tip of the day will be: Don't question everything, it'll just drive you nuts.

Veckans Babe

Roman, boende i New York som fullkomligt älskar det land han bor i, som vi träffade på i butiken runt hörnet vid vår lägenhet.

Citat: "In my native country, I can't be myself, only because I'm gay. But in this country, everyone, including myself, is allowed to be just the way they are. I love America with every little part of my heart. Every tiny particle of me loves America."

Motivering: För hans fantastiska ärlig- och öppenhet mot oss. Att han vågar och vill berätta om sin bakgrund och sina tankar för oss. Det behövs fler som Roman.
