So it has come to this, I officially have no new photos and my life is boring so I am resorting to throwbacks haha. I have been working all the time and don't really have time to do stuff. However yesterday I went for a cocktail with Rose and Nima. We went to this really cool place called Curfew close to my apartment in Vesterbro, it was really nice to put on some make-up and look like a human, in stead of sitting in front of a computer half dead. But anyway, Curfew is such a nice place to go for a drink, it is avant-garde and super stylish. Nima got a cocktail called Amazonas and the glass was wraped in a banana leaf and had a feather tied to it. I got an "Unfaithful" with gin, cucumber and liquorice. So nice! But yeah, now I am going back to studying- only 12 days to go and then we are done whop!
Needless to say that hotel beds are usually not as comfortable as the ones we have at home. So waking up to a sore neck or something is pretty standard. Now imagine that you have been walking 20km/per day and your feet are also sore. So pretty much this morning was extremely painful, unfortunately Tad was doing a lot worse than I did, so it was a really slow start to the day! Nontheless we managed to walk another 20k haha. We went to see the Eiffel Tower, Champs- Élysées where we got some food( I got a salad Niçoise and it had rice in it- strange), the Louvre, Colette, le Grand Palais, where we saw maybe 100 photographers waiting for people to come from a show we stopped by Kusmi Tea and bought two packs( wanted to get it for a really long time). Also the weather was perfect until the sun went down- absolutely amazing day! I am so tired though, so can't write more- off to dinner now! Talk tomorrow xx.
I would have to disagree with Owen Wilson, who in Midnight in Paris states that the city is even more beautiful in the rain- it is not. We just got back to the hotel, to where we had to take an Uber, because a huge thunder storm and heavy rain appeared above Paris- which turned into snow. A day that started with sun and blue skies looked very promising, so we had no idea how it would end! Thankfully we got up quite early today ( I was up since 5am and couldn't sleep) and went to le Bon Marché and The Conran Shop. I will dedicate a whole post to the later! Afterwards we decided to go to Montparnasse Tower to get a nice view of Paris, which was indeed breathtaking. On the down side I am really scared of heights and elevators so going 59 floors up in an elevator was not very pleasant haha. Afterwards a pick-nick at Jardin du Luxembourg and a walk around the Panthéon and Rue Mouffetard. Ended the day with a stroll up Champs- Élysées and an Uber! I hope the weather is nice tomorrow! Have a lovely day guys!
As you would say "comme les parisiens" which means like the people in Paris, or in this case as the people in Paris do: you have got to go to Merci, a shopping centre in le Marais. Hidden in a cute courtyard of the main street, tt is seriously one of the coolest places I have seen in Paris. 1) there is a bunch of cool stationary, which I looove- seriously the way to my heart is with a cool paper set or pen haha 2) interior: insane amount of cool chairs, tables, lamps.... 3) coffee table books 4) the clothes... I could go on and on and on.... There are so many cool things to find- also there is a super cool book café, where you can have a snack and coffee. As I metioned in the previous post we had this insane lemonade, that was so strong but insanely good haha. I think it is a really nice place to go even if you don't buy anything- to be honest traveling with a small suitcase can be challenging at times. I usually buy way too many things and can't fit my stuff on the way back and then I have like 4 extra bags haha. Anyway, if you go to Paris be sure you go to Merci! I think it is as important as going to Colette!
What a day! Breakfast at a bistro and then walking for 7 hours haha. Since our hotel is so conveniently placed we can walk anywhere. Today we went around the river Seinne, around Musée d’Orsay, Notre Damme to Le Marais, which is a charming neighborhood with a bunch of cool and hip shops and cafés. We went to le Peloton café where Tad got really yummy waffles! Afterwards we walked around and found a little shop la Chambre Aux Confitures , where they had home made marmelades and candles, so we got some things- of course ( I LOVE candles). We ended the day at Merci, a kinda hipster-ish shopping center, where you can buy anything you need- or usually don’t need and also eat some delicious food. Tad and I are going out to have dinner soon, so we got one dish to share and this ginger lemon lemonade, which taste like if they only squeezed lemon and juiced ginger and put it together- really intense but so good! I think after dinner we will go for a walk aroud the Eiffel Tower and maybe have a glass of wine somewhere! Tomorrow I want to go to Ladurée and Bon Marché! Have a nice day everyone xx.
