Who doesn't dream of escaping the buzz of everyday life in an Island retreat?
Breathtaking panoramic ocean outer island views, and warm tropical breezes intoxicate the senses and renew the spirit at the Villa Hale O’Ola Estate Rental in Maui Hawaii. This luxury villa is centered just off beautiful clear waters and in the heart of paradise.

This estate is a model for contemporary Hawaiian "plantation style" architectural design with its distinguishable bellcast roof.

This impressive handcarved door is the formal entry of the property, which opens to an exquisite outdoor courtyard that connects the 3 wings of the home.

The courtyard features a sunken cabana with swim-up bar, full outdoor kitchen, a vanishing edge lagoon pool and a hot tub.

In the innermost courtyard, a magnificent 35' waterfall and a Koi-pond perfects the feeling of paradise on earth. You can enjoy the view of this from most of the suites.

Absolutely stunning!

A spacious living room with pocket doors opens to a covered lanai with stunning ocean views of the Molokini caldera. The local art on the walls and in the ceiling enhances the experience.

The gourmet kitchen with leathered marble counter tops and professional appliances, walk-in pantry and wine room.
The master suite has a king sized bed with sweeping ocean views. The master suite bathroom can only be described as art, with one solid stone carved into a bathtub
There are 5 guest suites with King sized beds while the last guest room has a plush queen bed. Each room has its own bathroom, with waterfall showers in 4 of them and the rest with Rock tubs.

In the movie theater, the wonderful lighted hand-carved stone columns makes the design language of the house present itself in full.

The layout of the estate. Every room have stunning views of the sea as well as the courtyard. Great planning indeed.

SVANE - S17 by Architect MAA Rolf Birk

With its innovative design language, the S17 folds out like a true statement kitchen where edges, contrasts and a continuous material play freely in a monochrome and graphical kitchen expression.

The S17 kitchen is design-protected and consists of three supporting elements, which together create the unique graphic expression of the kitchen - a continuous black frame, a continuous material that is consistently used on all surfaces of the kitchen, as well as the handle DOT, specially designed for the S17 collection.

This dreamhome is build in 2000, in the classical "Master builder" style. This architectural style was the most common build in 1915-1930, and are recognized by being very robustly build, all in brick, and bricked cornices instead of overhang on the roof. From around 2000 it has gained new popularity as people are turning away from prefabricated housing.

The park-like garden is designed by landscape architect Helle Valsted, and is one of the bestlooking gardes I have ever seen in private housing.

Every detail on the property is meticulously planned.

The style of the wonderful BOFORM kitchen continues through the washroom and the bathrooms in the house.

The rounded conservatory has a stunning view of the park and Sønderborg bay.

The livingroom is big, light and welcomming.

The diningroom easily seats 14 people

The opposite side of the entrylevel holds office, playroom and more.

The landing is a work of art, with ample room for various purposes.

Master bedroom with access to the balcony overlooking the garden, a lavish bathrooom with jacuzzi and a walk-in closet.

The children's rooms with their own bathroom.

In the garagebuilding, there's an apartment for guests.

Today, while moving some crates, I got a bit curious. One of the boxes contained old prints of some of my oldest designs. Mostly kitchens and baths, but also other stuff. I scanned the pictures, and I will post some of it the next couple of days, just for fun!

Bear with me, this is 15-20 years old :)

This one is from 1998 or 99. I designed a complete rebuild of this 1960's house including kitchen and bath.

This is the kitchen they ended up Building. the microwave on the wall was all-black glass and with no visible difference from the high-gloss cabinets, but that model wasn't available in the software then.

A couple of my other suggestions. Personally I love the Corean® countertops and the WITT Multizone cooktop.

The house was a run-of-the-mill red brick house, which in Denmark are more common than grass, we updated it by extending the roof to cover the porch, plastering the walls and mounting partial wooden angulated facade, which were all the rage back then.

Thats all from this blast from the past, more comming up tommorow.

Palmtrees indoors is proberbly just for hotels and resorts, but we can dream!

Utilizing the skylight for the garden makes a picturesque scene in this hallway.

The waterfeature perfects this entrance.

This is simply a fantastic idea! How much longer would baths take in this room?

Simple, elegant and modern
