It’s that time of year when pumpkins are everywhere and pumpkin spice is a must!
So I thought I will share with u how to make pumpkin spice at home...
I usually prepare it and keep it in fridge and when I feel like I can just take and add to whatever I want to. Mostly it’s breakfast porridge or latte, but same thing you can use to make soup or sauce - it’s gluten free and vegan so everyone can play around it in a way they like!

So how to make it?
1. You cut pumpkin in a half and clean out all the seeds and rest of soft part - I use spoon and just scrape it off.
2. I cut it in smaller pieces (4-6 depends on size) and spray pumpkin “meat” part with coconut oil.
3. I put it in oven at 180’ and I leave it there for 1/2 hour or until soft.
4. I let it cool and then take off skin - normally it’s coming off easily just by pulling it a little.
5. I put it in blender, add some cinnamon and nutmeg (can be added later, but I use those spices whenever it’s pumpkin so I choose to add it now) and blend until smooth. If u prefer to have a bit texture - use fork to make it porridge like.
6. I store it in fridge in some closed box up to 4 days (it never last longer - I eat it up)

To make pumpkin spice latte just add your espresso a spoonful with this and mix it well before adding milk. I add it to my morning oatmeal or almond porridge. If I want it sweeter use some agave syrup or other natural sweeteners and of course cinnamon and nutmeg after taste!

Hope this was useful!
Let me know how u use pumpkins during season ;)

So it's finally that week when my mom is visiting me. Last time she was in Norway was more than 2 years ago and normally I meet her and rest of my family just during summer holidays that I spend in Latvia - every summer - 2 weeks I spend in Latvia - eating good food, enjoying family and siblings all around and nature... Showing my son things I used to love and things that are important in a way for me and my boyfriend, who is Norwegian have nothing against that - he knows that that's the part of our relationship and that's how it will be every single year...
But now my mom came! Wish it would be my dad as well, but he had to work...maybe next time! Everything is different for my mom and I love that she gets to see how I'm actually living - big just in pictures, but real life and it makes her so happy! And so as me!
My mom is here just for couple of days - from Wednesday to Monday cause then there are direct flight from Trondheim to Riga. We are enjoying our time together and trying to get the best out of it even if I still have to go to work and it cuts off couple of hours during days we could be together. Good thing that my son is home and having autumn holidays from school and spending some quality time with his grandma - normally it's 2 weeks at summer time they meet...
That's why you here less from me now, cause I have a bit different priorities at a time...but I'm still posting daily on my Instagram!
Wishing you all amazing weekend with this sneak picture of my mom (she of course hates it)

Lets talk about something that is bit embarrassing, but we all experience... Bloating. I have been reading and reading, and reading lots about reasons and here is what i have found out...

Reasons why we get bloated...

  • gluten sensitivity/celiac disease or other food intolerances- you can get it checked at your doctor with some simple blood test, but yet - not always it will show. I am gluten sensitiv, but just until some level - that means - if i will eat a little bread everything will be ok, but if i will eat couple of slices - most likely i will end up with stomach pain and over bloated.
  • poor food combining - try to cut on combining different foods - eat fruits alone - dont mix it with other foods like dairy, or proteins.
  • irregular meal times - try to have a plan what and when you eat, keep it small and regular.
  • and i know there are much more reasons why, but...

But...lets concentrate us on solutions... There are foods that are known as good for you when you are bloated - like

  • herbs and teas - ginger, fennel, oregano, parsley, green tea, bone broth and herbal teas.
  • probiotics - known as "good bacteria" like natural unsweetened yoghurt, kefir and kombucha - things i cant live without - they kill bad bacteria and help your stomach work better.
  • water and water rich vegetables and fruits - make sure to drink enough water during the day. Remember you also get water from leafy greens, cucumber, melon, berries etc.

Things you should better avoid if u are struggling with bloated stomach...

  • sugar and all sweetened snacks - i guess we all already know that sugar does no good for us...
  • some vegetables are known for causing bloating - like cabbage, broccoli, onion, garlic, cauliflower, beans etc.
  • gluten - wheat, corn, oats - those all are proceed grains that are hard diggest for many of us.
  • and of course sweetened dairy - like yoghurts with taste even when it stands zero sugar, chocolate milk and so on...sugar never scores high when it comes to our well being...

Those are just some things that i came up to after doing some research and trying out it on myself... Im aware that different things works different for peoples - whats good for one, wont work for everyone, thats why i made "safe list" of things that most of us experience as "fart food" or we just know, that after eating some particularly food we will be farting or burping...

What are the foods that work good or bad for you?

I have been looking for those boots a while and now they had sale...I was so happy - they even had my size! It's not that often when you have big feet - like really big...
Today I finally picked up my boots at post office and dilemma is real - should I keep them or send back?!?
They are so nice, but little bit tight...but it's leather and that means it will stretch after wearing and fit perfectly...yet I don't know what to do...
You know - sometimes when you get thing you have ordered, you see it in real life and you get so disappointed that you send it straight back...that's kinda easy. This is not that time - this is time when you try them over and over again and put in front of you to just look at them...
Would you keep them?!? Anyone else having big feet struggle?

You know those days, when you haven't slept well, when you don't feel good... All you want to do is get under blanket, make cup of tea and just feel sad about yourself...
This was that day! What I did?
I woke up, had good breakfast, I putted more make up on than other days and shoes that I was saving... I'm a bit shoe obsessed person and I really love statement shoes, but I have so big feet, that mostly they won't fit, so I don't own crazy much shoes and I save them... But look at those dark red, almost burgundy color velour kinda sneakers... Those aren't everyday sneakers for me, but today they worked well - as ridiculous as it sounds - those sneakers made my day! And some old favorite CD's helped as well. I always check cd when I'm at second hand stores or flea marked - that's where I find my good old favorites that I don't have with me, cause there are big part of things that I own still in Latvia and that makes it even more bitter-sweet when I'm there for vacation...
Now it's one more long day with meeting at end over and new, better days in front of me.
Herbarium I'm making with help of those little hands or actually he is making and I'm just showing how, cause that's part of childhood!
How do u cheer yourself up on those days when everything feels like falling apart? How do u get yourself up and going?

October is here and autumn is here for sure - how it blows during the night...
This is my mood board for autumn - maybe for this week, maybe for October, but maybe for all autumn... I love autumn - it's that time when you want that extra cuddle, you want that big cozy sweater or cardigan, warm tea or coffee and just dream yourself away to other places... It's the best time of year when to eat local greens and vegetables, cause it's harvesting time...it's time of changes - nights gets darker and days much shorter, but we still want to manage so much...maybe it's time to slow down a little...
Wishing you all amazing autumn, October, this week and this day! I have to manage to make dinner before I will get to gym (long time no see)...but I'm back!

Pictures are borrowed from internet - I don't own them!

I'm that kinda person who loves to challenge myself! Almost every month I think of something, but since summer vacation is over I'm obsessed with getting healthy! And I'm not saying anything about weight, but I know I should loose couple of kilos as well, but it will come as side effect... I prefer "baby steps" when it comes to getting healthy - otherwise I will just loose it, motivation will be gone and I know I will struggle, so I take one thing at a time!
Last month was about quitting smoking...yes, I was smoking for years and I'm not proud of it, but now it's 41 day without cigarette and that I am proud of!

This moth challenge will be about eating and just about eating!
Some years ago I was obsessed with paleo diet and it made me feel really well, so now I'm getting back to that, just "baby steps". I'm not the one who will say - throw away all pasta and eat just meat and vegetables - no! I'm not doing that, I even hate throwing away food, so this week we have had couple of pasta dinner, but now it's empty and now it's starts for me!

Just to make sure - this wont be paleo diet, but paleo based diet - that means - I wont be eating strictly to paleo rules...

So what will i eat?!

  • fish
  • meat
  • eggs
  • nuts, seeds
  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • dairy (unsweetened)

What i wont be eating?!

  • sugars
  • proceed foods
  • sweetened drinks

What i will eat, just less?!

  • legumes (beans, lentils)
  • potatoes
  • grains (no wheat)

It might sound hard to follow, but believe me - it's habits! Once you practice doing grocery in different way than you used to and cook differently - it goes easy! Plus you will really notice difference in your weight and shape! So tomorrow I will start day with weighing, measuring and picture in front of mirror - right after morning toilet, so I have something that motivates me during days with struggle.

And I will make sure to get 7-9hours sleep every night, cause that's important for me!

Who's with me at this October challenge of mine? Or du u have your own challenge for this month?

Today I woke up, had a good breakfast and off I was, cause I had plan to go to 2 different flea markets.

Here are couple of my tips for shopping there...
• I go to those who are outside the city, avoid those in centrum, cause prices will always be higher in central ones, so as more peoples and harder to find things.
• Always have with you snacks and drink! To be successful - u have to be patient and look over and over... In Norway you can always buy coffee and waffles there, but I prefer to save on that.
• Go alone or with someone who likes it - boyfriend might not be the best choice, if he already hates regular shopping - this is totally different.
• Look in those boxes under the tables - there you might find best things, cause those are not yet packed out.
• If you kinda like it - you take it and carry around all the time! You can put it down whenever if you change your mind, but there are others who might like it - so take it and hold it until u decide!
• Never leave your things without attention or others will buy them.
• When paying - I like to choose who I will ask for price... Mostly it will be man and not the one who is running around and checking everything, but the one who is there just because he have to - for him it's all rubbish, so you will get cheaper price.
• I also like to leave one thing I'm not sure if I want out of bag and I decide my max price for it - so I start paying by asking price for that - if it's more then I start thinking and say my price - that's how they will understand that you need good price for rest of things or you won't take it. Never start with things you badly want!

I ended up with quit a lot of things and I love them! At least for price what I had to pay. Today's total was under 300kr
So here are some pictures with what I bought!

Do you have any good tips for flea markeds? What do u look for?

Remember to follow me on Instagram for more!

Today I thought to talk about shopping on budget...and not groceries, but clothes!

I'm not saying that I have some super cool style or that I'm stylish - I wear what I like and what makes me feel good without spending all my money...

So here are tips that I came up with...

1. Buy clothes that you can wear all year or even more...

Try to skip buying to much season clothes - I know it's tempting, but summer always ends in Norway (if it comes) and it's not necessary to have lots of summer clothes! Of course I do buy some clothes that are more seasonal, but think of amounts and colors. For example - if u buy dress with flowers - buy it with smaller print and think of color - it's wearable during autumn as well.

2. Don't buy all the latest trends...

I'm trying to stay updated with all the latest trends and you know - fashion is a bit funny thing - same things comes in and goes out every single year, but there are some things that are "timeless". Look for more classy prints, smaller prints, simple lines. Of course there are some trends in my closet, but it's not full with every seasons trends - if your closet is based on classics (I'm not classy one - that's not my style) you can just add some sweater or skirt that is season trend and here you go!

3. Shop online...

Online shopping is one of my favorites and I have made account in lot of online shops - that's how I always get email before sale starts... and like zalando...my wishlist there is like over 100things...if u have logged in with your email address - they will send you mail every time there will be thing from your wishlist priced down!

4. Make wishlist...

As in point 3 - make wishlist - specially when shopping online and don't buy things straight...check out after week if u still want it or get to shop and try on! I often delete things from wishlist cause after some time I don't like them anymore and then I'm happy that they stayed there!

5. Thrifting...

If u stay updated with trends and love thrifting - you can find good deals there, but u have to be patient and you never know what you will get. When thrifting you have to enjoy process, cause there are days you can't find anything and there are days when you love everything and everything fits - you never know what you get! But fashion goes around - what's in now - have already been in some time ago and have already been out and ended in thrift shop! But always try on! Don't trust sizes!

6. Men's department...

Always - yeah - always check men's department! Specially if u are not petite size. I'm not - I'm 182cm so I often get some good pieces from there and there they are often better quality and I don't understand why... Like nice knit wear - that big one - why you need to buy it at women's part and oversized if u can get really good pieces at men's department?! And shoes as well... I'm size 42 - and I love shoes, but they doesn't fit - often they don't, but men's shoes - they fit and seriously men's shoes now becomes more feminine as well - at least you can find nice boots, sneakers, loafers etc there...

7. Buy outside the borders...

In Norway you have to remember that you have to pay tax if u order over 350kr including shipping, but asos have free shipping and good offers - so I often order from there and then I sort after price, cause I'm not interested to see anything over that price - it will just make my shopaholic heart sad...

8. Buy off season...

Everyone knows that saying that you have to buy winter things during summer and opposite, but that's more to classics - don't buy trendy things on season sale - then you will throw away that money, cause when that season comes back and you finally have chance to wear those pieces you bought, you won't! But coats and quality things, designer pieces - things that last - those you buy off season!

9. Don't buy it...

Often we feel that we “need” some things, but truly evaluate your motives. Do you truly need it or are you simply trying to impress those around you? Don’t get caught up in trying to keep up with what everyone else is doing. I know it's not easy - I must admit - sometimes I fall, when I see some instagram picture with all those nice clothes and they are l tagged there...but don't! Think through!

So how do you save money on clothing? I would love to hear your tips since I’m always looking for new ways to save. Share them with me! And let me know what do you think of mine!

Let's talk about my new project that I have been thinking about for long...And during august it will finally be done...

It's that place around the door...that place that isn't used for anything...I will make shelves there and I know how I want it to look - I want shelves to be pretty much invisible - just things that will be there will show...

Have been searching for some inspiration online and those where ones I liked best...

I don't know exactly where to find shelves as I have been thinking about and yes - I don't want it to cost so much either...but I believe that with little DIY I will be able to make it look as I wish...

Here is my space and plan for how it should be...

Any suggestions where I should search for cheap and good solution?

Have a nice weekend!

Mine I believe will be good - have already been at gym, now waiting for my boyfriends family to come...

See more of my everyday on my instagram
