The other day I went to walk with theintention to get to know different parts of the city, some interesting neighborhoods.I step in from the Financial District to the Spanish Harlem and also all overBrooklyn, each place had something to offer me, every single street have theirown spirit.

Rather than go to places and sat me in acoffee shop, restaurant, visit museums, galleries, shops or going to thetypical sites like the Empire States I decided to walk around and see thepeople passing by. I think people can tell you more about a city than the cityitself; just by the way they look, act, react, dress or what they do on their dailybasis.

Cities suffers mutations according what thesociety needs, how they evolve according their needs and the time we ‘re livingtaking in count what is profitable and commercial for the markets.Nevertheless, people stay true on themselves. Every generation keeps the essenceof what they were and what they keep being. Showing their finest characteristics,as if they had polished its edges in time.

So, in this sense it’s possible to get toknown the city through their people, as if they were layers of time livingtogether in one space; like simultaneous parallel universe among us.

I arrived in New York on December 21stwith the intention to spend holydays with my beloveds; I have family in the city, so it was a good time. After that I walked all over the city looking for a job with out imagining how hard it will be, knocked every door that was in my reach, nevertheless the search was productive. Not only because I got a job, (after almost a month), but also for the way I got to know the city, from a non-touristic perspective. Here I share with you some pictures showing the sights I saw while I was walking looking for a job.

Currently I’m working in a restaurant in SOHO, but that is matter of another post…

HI! I’m Alex Neumann –the one in the right of the picture, the blonde hair is gone but the desire to explore is still running- a publicist who left his home town; Lima –Perú (now Living in New York), and his job with the intention to drop the rat race and change the “kill dreamer routine”. Which only held back our curiosity to explore and play. The nature of humans on their most purest state.

This blog has the intention to show my journey and seek of a different path, an inner search to end up doing what I want and living in a way that makes me feel fulfilled. How? I don’t know, I’ll discover how during the process.
