Okey so today we bungyjumped in Taupo, TWO times! It was a better price if you did it twice so we did. It was a bit scary looking out when you stood on the edge and it was a bit surreal falling out in the air. The first time we did a solo jump and the second we did tandem jump together. And the nature around the area was absoltely lovely!

The next stop in Taupo was sailing at lake Taupo and look at some maori carvings. We even tried to sail for the first time! Now we are hanging out at our backpacker hotel resting after a long day. Tomorrow we have a half day left in Taupo and we will start it with an early morning trip to the Huka falls.

Kia ora!

Which means hello/welcome in maori language. It also pronounces "kiora" for your information... :)

Yesterday was a full day trip of tourism and exploring in Rotoruas volcanic area. We started with The lady knox geyser, which shows on the first picture. It was nice to look at but we thought it would be more special.

We then went on to Wai-o-tapu which is a "thermal wonderland" and has plenty of geothermal acitivity (actually the whole Rotorua has it). The second picture is of "the champagne pool" at Wai-o-tapu. Last but not least, we reached Waimangu which is the "Volcanic valley" and has the most beautiful landscape! The environment was absolutely stunning and it felt like we where in "Jurassic park".

In the evening we went on The rotorua night market and enjoyed some cultural food, no photos from there... See you soon!

We haven't updated anything because there hasn't been any Wi-FI!

Okey, quick update!

Yesterday we spent the day in Hobbiton which is located 30 minutes from Matamata. We went on a tour at The Lord of The rings and Hobbit set. We absolutely loved it and me (Eve H) wanted to stay there forever. Here are some mobile photos and we will update with more photos later!

We are just about to leave the hotel in Auckland and go to the bus station, headed for Matamata (Hobbiton). We will arrive around 11.45, so it's a 3-4 hour trip.

We are very exited and will take a lot of photos, so expect a photo bomb later!

Bye Auckland!

Today something exciting waited. We were going to do a "skywalk" in Aucklands Skytower 192 metres up. And so we did. The skywalk is a walk around the tower on a narrow platform (approx. 1,5 metres wide) and includes some "challenges" as you can see on the photos below. At level 51 we walked out in the warm air laughing of anxiety. Eve H is normally not afraid of heights and has done challenging things in this category before, but now the stomach was spinning a bit. Eve G was afraid in the beginning but later it was no problem at all, even though she is really afraid of heights. At the end we both felt that we could take over the instructors job.

We are now sitting on a bar/café and have just eaten some lunch. After these two days here we have noticed some things. Because of the left-hand traffic many people walk on the "wrong" side of the road which means we walk in to them a lot. This also shows who are tourists and who are locals. Since the tourists walk on the same side as us, there are no cashes with them.

Another thing we have noticed is that Auckland is very influenced by Eastasia. Probably a third of all the people here have origins from these countries and every second shop or restaurant are asian.

We haven´t really got a grip on Auckland yet. The environment is a bit like Italy/Spain but not so dry. Here they also have several volcanoes and hills. The weather is a bit strange too, one minute it is hot ( like 25 degrees) and one other it is windy and a bit chilly, but we insist on having shorts at all times (because we are so pale and want to get a tan). The buildings are a bit different too, either they are modern or they are old, and very close to eachother. The houses outside the city are small and also close to eachother, like in Ukraine (according to Eve H).

We have reached our first stop, Auckland, New Zealand. The time is 11.15 PM here now and we are just going to sleep (Evelina H is already asleep). It took us 35 hours to get here and everything went smoothly. We changed flights two times, in Amsterdam and in South Korea. The last flight was an hour late but it didn´t matter to us.

We arrived here in Auckland around 10.00 AM today and we have only walked around in the city and bought some small necessary things. Tomorrow we are going to Skywalk!

Welcome to the blog of the two Evelinas!

We are two 20 year old swedes going on the adventure of our lives. The 24th of December we are leaving the cold Sweden where no light can reach, headed for the bright and shiny magical land where dreams come true. After a 30h trip we will reach the land of Hobbits (New Zealand for those who don´t have all the horses at home..) which is our first stop. After 2 weeks of hanging out with the hobbits and kiwi birds we will travel to the land of nopes where everything wants to kill you (Australia, again, no h0rses at home). Here we will become professional alcohol providers aka "bartenders" by some people. We will also visit Nemo and his friends in Cairns (the great barrier reef) for a week. We are then leaving for Bangkok and will continue to backpack in Southeast Asia.

The adventurous Evelina-duo have already checked off many things on the bucket list, but there are more things do be done. We have already planned and booked some crazy things, but after that we will just wing it.

We have known eachother several years and have been on many adventures before, both together and apart, but this is the biggest one so far. So we will exchange darkness and the polar bears with some vitamin D.

Seriosly though, we are really looking forward to this and have many interesting things planned, so keep on reading!
